To realize the ultimate truth is the prime goal. All the scriptures indicate that Atman is Brahman, and Brahman is the ultimate truth or God in truth.
The Soul, the Self, which is in the form of consciousness, is the ultimate truth or Brahman or God in truth. Thus, to realize the ultimate truth or Brahman or God in truth is the prime goal.
A well-directed inquiry, analysis, and reasoning will lead one to his nondual destination.
Rig Veda:~ 'Prajnanam Brahma': - Consciousness is the ultimate reality or Brahman or God in truth.
Rig Veda: ~ The Atman is the cause; Atman is the support of all that exists in this universe. May ye never turn away from the Atman the Self. May ye never accept another God in place of the Atman nor worship other than the Atman?" (10:48, 5)
Bhagavad Gita: ~ “Brahmano hi pratisthaham” ~ Brahman is considered the all-pervading consciousness which is the basis of all the animate and inanimate entities and material. (14.27)
In Advaita Vedanta: ~ “Brahman is without attributes and strictly impersonal. It can be best described as infinite Being, infinite Consciousness, and infinite Bliss. It is pure knowledge itself, similar to a source of infinite radiance. Since the Advaitins regard Brahman to be the Ultimate Truth, so in comparison to Brahman, every other thing, including the material world, its distinctness, the individuality of the living creatures, and even Ishvara (the Supreme Lord) itself are all untrue. Brahman is the effulgent cause of everything that exists and can possibly exist. Since it is beyond human comprehension, it is without any attributes, for assigning attributes to it would be distorting the true nature of Brahman. Those Advaitins who believe in the existence of Saguna Brahman(God with form and attributes) belong to the religion, not spirituality. In Spirituality, Nirguna Brahman (attributeless God). Athma is Nirguna Brahman, is the absolute supreme truth.
Chandogya Upanishad:~ One who meditates upon and realizes the Self discovers that everything in the cosmos-- energy and space, fire and water, name and form, birth and death, mind and will, word and deed, mantras and meditation--all comes from the Self.
So, it clearly says the one who meditates upon the Soul, the Self, which is present in the form of consciousness) discovers that everything in the cosmos-- energy and space, fire and water, name and form, birth and death, mind and will, word and deed, mantras and meditation--all come from the Self. Therefore, there is a need to know the fact that, the true self is not physical, but the Soul in order to realize the fact that: the cosmos-- energy and space, fire and water, name and form, birth and death, mind and will, word and deed, mantras and meditation--all come from the Self, which is in the form of consciousness.
Atman is Brahman. Brahman is alone real; this waking is unreal, and the three states are non-different from consciousness, which is Brahman or God in truth.
Whatever is, is Brahman. Brahman itself is absolutely homogeneous. All difference and plurality are illusory. Brahman is not a person, as the Absolute is not this. But if one wants to call it God or Param Atman, then fine. But it is not a person.

Vedas reveals ONE GOD but Hinduism filled with 33crores of Gods Vedas reveals God as Spirit (Atman or Brahman) and no form whereas Hindus worship God in the form of various non-Vedic idols of Gods and Goddesses are barred by Vedas.
Yajurveda – chapter- 32:~ God is Supreme Spirit has no ‘Pratima’ (idol) or material shape. He cannot be seen directly by anyone. God pervades all beings and all directions.
Thus, Idolatry does not find any support from the Vedas.
If God is Spirit, then how does the man know God created the world? There is no proof. If the man had seen God creating the world, he could admit it, but how could he have seen God before he came into existence? (i.e. were created).
Yajur Veda says those who worship idols in place of God are enveloped in still greater darkness. Therefore, all these add-ons prove that the form and attribute-based concepts are introduced projecting them Vedic Gods in the past with a new belief system and code of conducts in the name of Vedas.
The dualistic worship of "God” only for the lower minds; Advaita for the more evolved.
Dogmas and beliefs, rituals, and ceremonies are the essences of the religion, not of spirituality. Religion has become merely a matter of external rituals and ceremonies. Religion hides the truth beyond form, time, and space. Until the form, time and space are present the duality is present. The duality creates the illusory prison to the Soul, the innermost Self.
Religious rites and rigid ceremonies were passed down from one generation to the next as a practice or set customs and tradition and performed automatically with blind faith. Such worship based on the belief of God does not reach God.
Personifying God makes it difficult to realize God in truth hidden by the illusory universe or Maya. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar
