Since we see the world as the world, we are unaware of
the ‘Self’ hidden by the world, which is the dualistic illusion.
The thoughts & thinker and the world are nothing to do with the Soul, the Self because the thoughts, thinker, and the world are part and parcel of the universe, which is the dualistic illusion or Maya.
The truth is not based on you because the Self is not you but the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness. The Soul is the witness and you and the world in which you exist is part of the witnessed.
The Soul is the subject and you and the world in which you exist is an object to the Soul, the subject.
Until you hold the ‘you-centric’ Gurus and their teaching as final you are caught up in the spider web of ignorance.
By finding out the source of the thoughts the ignorance will not vanish. By finding out to whom the thoughts come the truth will not reveal. Thoughts arise to the person within the waking or dream. The thinker is the form. Without the form, time, and space the thinking is an impossibility. The thoughts form only in the domain of the form, time, and space. The form, time, and space belong to the dualistic illusion. Thus, the thinker & the thought belong to the universe, which is the dualistic illusion or Maya.
Thus, thinker & thoughts are part of the known. The witness of the knower and known is formless, timeless, and spaceless existence
Thoughts & thinker are nothing to do with the formless witness. The witness is that witnesses the thoughts, thinker, and the world together and hidden by the waking or dream as their formless substance.
People think that the more they think, the more they will get; but it is really an error. It remains only a thought and gives them back only thoughts. Anything is seen, observed, cannot be the Self or the Witness because the Self is hidden by the whole illusory universe
The Upanishads declare:-
“Neti, Neti — not this, not this, not that.”
This does not mean that consciousness, which is ultimate truth or Brahman is a negative concept, or a metaphysical abstraction, or a nonentity, or a void. The Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness, is the ultimate truth or Brahman.
Consciousness is second to none. Consciousness is not another. Consciousness is all-full, infinite, changeless, Self-existent, Self-delight, Self-knowledge, and Awareness. Consciousness is the essence. Consciousness is the formless knower of all that is known. Consciousness is the formless Seer and the Seen. Consciousness is transcendent and formless Witness. Consciousness is impersonal and without attributes, formless, without special characteristics, immutable, eternal and non-agent. Consciousness is above all needs and desires. It is always the Witnessing Subject. It can never become an object as it is beyond the reach of from, time, and space.
Consciousness is non-dual, one without a second. It has no second thing besides it. The Consciousness is destitute of difference, either external or internal. Consciousness cannot be described because description implies a distinction. Consciousness cannot be distinguished from any other than it. In consciousness, there is not a distinction between substance and attribute. Awareness is the very essence of consciousness, is the ultimate truth or Brahman.
The attributeless consciousness is impersonal and pure. Consciousness becomes a personal or attributed consciousness only through its association with illusion, which appears in the form of mind or the universe or waking or dream.
Attributed consciousness and attributeless consciousness are not two different consciousnesses. Attributeless consciousness is not the contrast, antithesis, or opposite of attributed consciousness. The same attributeless consciousness appears as attributed consciousness. The mind and the Soul are one in essence. The essence is consciousness. Thus, consciousness is second to none.
The attributed consciousness appears in the form of the mind. The mind is in the form of the universe. And the universe appears as waking or dream. Thus, the Mind, the universe, the waking or dream are one and the same thing.
The universe is a reality from the standpoint of the waking entity. The universe is unreal from the standpoint of the Soul, which is attributeless consciousness.
The practical life within the practical world is a reality from the standpoint of the waking entity, which is attributed consciousness. It is the same consciousness from two different points of view.
Attributeless consciousness is real and eternal, the ultimate truth from the transcendental standpoint; attributed consciousness is the illusory consciousness that appears as the universe, is a reality within the illusory waking experience.
The universe is an illusion on the standpoint of the Soul, which is present in the form of the consciousness, is the i Self. The practical life within the practical world is a reality within the illusory waking experience. The three states are the product of ignorance. Ignorance is the cause of experiencing the illusion as a reality.
When ignorance vanishes through wisdom then consciousness alone will prevail as ultimate reality or Brahman. Thus, Consciousness is absolutely real and eternal.
The illusion or mind or the universe, which appears as waking or dream is the product of ignorance. The unchanging consciousness appears as the changing mind through illusion. The illusion is a mysterious indescribable power of the consciousness which hides the real and manifests itself as the unreal: mind or illusion is not real because it becomes unreal when one attains Self- knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.
The mind or waking remains a reality until ignorance is there. When non-dual wisdom dawns then the waking experience becomes unreal. due to ignorance The superimposition of the illusion, on the consciousness.:~ Santthosh Kumaar
