Swami Vivekananda: ~Advaita encompasses everything. Since Advaita requires heavy-duty intellectualism, it had to be progressively simplified. (From 'The Complete works of Swami Vivekananda)

Many of the seekers from the west they are not even aware of the fact that without Sage Sankara there is no Advaita and they think the ‘I-centric Gurus and their half-baked teaching as Advaita.

Sage Sankara as a rationalist philosopher, in contrast to the more traditional image of him as a theologian: (Sage Sankara’s system of Advaita), is not even a philosopher dish cooked to suit exclusively the palate of the Hindu. It is like the air and the water, the common food of all men in all countries. It is ... an attempt ... at constructing a "Science of Truth," nay, in fact, it is the only attempt yet made at such a science. If rightly interpreted Sage Sankara’s teaching as food for all humanity, the universal teaching par excellence; it is not just a religion, but the religion; not a philosophy, but the philosophy; not a science, but the Science of Truth; not a soteriology, but the path to spiritual liberation par excellence, wide and deep as the ocean which contains virtually all the water of the world and in which all particular forms ultimately dissolve.

Such seekers are emotionally and sentimentally believe that their accepted guru and their Gurus teaching as ultimate and remain in the prison of ignorance. Such a mindset is not fir to acquire the Advaitic wisdom of Sage Sankara.

Ashtavakra Gita page 224:- It is not the absence of Buddhi that can grasp Advaita but the man who possesses the highest intellect. Brains are necessary. Such a man, by merely hearing the truth mentioned will know it.

Many of the seekers from the west they are not even aware of the fact that without Sage Sankara there is no Advaita and they think the ‘I-centric Gurus and their half-baked teaching as Advaita.

Sage Goudapada’s rational exposition of Advaita: ~ “Whatever is seen, whether external or internal, whether by the ordinary persons or yogis are unreal.

Swami Vivekananda aptly described Sage Sankara’s Advaita as the fairest flower of philosophy that any country in any age has produced.

The Advaitic truth is a rational or scientific truth declared by Bhagwan Buddha and Sage Sankara centuries back, but unfortunately, the original essence of the rational Advaita is lost mainly, because of orthodox adulteration and add-ons, which are based on the ego (waking entity), which is the false self within the false experience (waking).

The seeker has to first indulge in deeper self-search without scriptures and understand assimilate the Advaitic truth, which leads to self-awareness. Thus, soulcentric thinking, reasoning, and judgment are very much necessary in pursuit of truth.

Sage Gaudapada:~ The non-dual Atman is realized when the individual self (jiva) is awakened from its ignorance. Atman is unborn, dreamless, sleepless, and motionless and is beyond duality. It is cognition at its purest. It is Brahman- Ayam Atma Brahma, this Atma is that Brahma; Thus epitomizing the core of Upanishad teachings.

Remember:~

The Advaitic wisdom of Sage Sankara can be summed up in the following statement:-

Brahma satyam, jaganmithya, jivobrahmaivanaparah: - Brahman alone is real; the world is non-real and the individual Self is essentially not-different from Brahman.

~This is the quintessence of Sage Sankara’s Advaitic wisdom.

Consciousness is the one single reality or Brahman. The individual self is a reality within the illusory universe or Maya. There is no individual in the realm of the non-dualistic reality.

Advaita says:~ One alone exists, and the rest is all superimposition on that One, due to ignorance.

Through a systematic inquiry into the nature of the mind, which is present in the form of the universe, one arrives at the position that the Soul, the Self, which is present in the form of consciousness, is the ultimate truth or Brahman or God in truth.

The Soul, the Self is constant and, therefore, real, while the phenomena constituting the universe is constantly changing and, therefore, unreal. The final conclusion is that the form, time, and space or the universe are one in essence. That essence is consciousness. Thus, no second thing exists other than consciousness.

The seeker of truth has to take into account all three states of our existence, which is waking, dream, and deep sleep ~ in waking or dream one experiences duality, and in deep sleep, there is only non-duality. In order to obtain a complete picture of our existential reality, we need to include evidence from all three states. This is the phenomenology of consciousness.

Consciousness is one only, without a second. One experiences the manifold universe ignorance ~ led illusion “covers" the One and "projects" the Many. The illusion is the veil on consciousness. In truth, only One, non-dual Reality is all there is. Consciousness is all-pervasive. It is intrinsically Real, Self-effulgent, infinite, undifferentiated Pure.

When the Soul, the Self, wakes up to its own formless nondual true nature, the ignorance ceases, and the illusion, which is present in the form of duality never again experienced as reality.

The show of the illusory duality, however, continues, as before. Only our identification with a particular actor's role is gone forever because the self is in its own awareness.

Self-awareness is Brahmic Bliss! This state is already ours always in deep sleep in a "general" way. When the Self-Knowledge dawns then one is awake to it in a "special" way in the midst of dualistic illusion or Maya.

Atman=Brahman or the Self, capture the essence of the immanent (Self) and the transcendent (Brahman) Reality. Humanity has not yet conceived a more lofty conception of its position in the universe.

Advaita only means the negation of duality. The Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness, is the ultimate truth or Brahman. Consciousness is the cause of the origin, maintenance, and withdrawal of the universe is Advaita (i.e. non-dual), which means that consciousness transcends all conceptions, positive and negative. Nothing positive can ever be imagined or said about it.

Consciousness is existence absolute, awareness absolute. Existence absolute means that consciousness is not unreal or non-existent. And it is not the unconsciousness. Nothing positive can be stated about consciousness.:~Santthosh Kumaar

Mediocre minds waste their time arguing about unimportant matters. Accumulation of scriptural knowledge is dangerous in pursuit of truth.+

Mediocre minds waste their time arguing about unimportant matters. Accumulation of scriptural knowledge is dangerous in pursuit of truth.

A donkey with a load of holy books is still a donkey. A person who mastered scriptural knowledge is still a scholar, not a Gnani.

Ashtavakra:~There is no wisdom whatsoever in the scriptures-just a collection of words.

The seeker should not bother about finding the meaning of what is written in the scriptures.

The seeker has to establish the truth of Non-duality by sheer reasoning alone. The seeker has to begin by defining "What is real?" "What is unreal?" etc., because that is the right way to discuss, understand, and assimilate self-knowledge. Thus, the seeker has to remove all the hindrance in order to acquire Self-knowledge

The truth which has no basis is usually religion or a mere catalog of ignorant opinions; people prefer it because it can be got more easily. A religious philosophy based on the false self (ego) is worthless from the standpoint of truth.

Mundaka - Chapter 2 (8) ~ Fools, dwelling in darkness, but wise in their own conceit and puffed up with vain scholarship, wander about, being afflicted by many ills, like blind men led by the blind.

Ish Upanishad declares:~ Those people who have neglected the attainment of Self-knowledge and have thus committed suicide 10/11/12
The religious orthodox people who have neglected the attainment of Self-knowledge and have thus committed suicide, as it were, are doomed to enter those worlds after death.
This is a condemnation of people who do not try to attain Self-knowledge. They are, in a real sense, committing suicide, for what can be worse than being a slave to sense enjoyment, completely oblivious of the real purpose of life, which is to be one ’s, own master?
He, who does not desire to realize the truth, cannot find any interest in the Atmic path. The Atmic path is not a discussion or exchange of views but it searches after the truth of our true existence. Atmic thinking leads to Atmic wisdom. Knowledge of the Soul leads to Self-awareness. Self-awareness is the ever homogeneous, unexcelled eternal.
In Self-awareness, the world in which we exist (dualistic illusion) all its luster and appears as a glow-worm in the presence of the sun.
When the Soul, the ‘Self’ remains in its own awareness in the midst of the dualistic illusion it is free from the illusory bondage of the form, time, and space.
People are unaware of the fact that their existence is limited to the domain of form, time, and space. Without the form, time, and space they cease to exist. Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana is necessary to realize, the man is not the ‘Self’ but the ‘Self’ is the Soul or the Spirit or the consciousness.
Do not search the ‘Self’ in the world in which you exist. The ‘Self’ is not an entity or an identity within the world, in which you exist. The Self is the cause of the world in which you exist and the ‘self’ itself is uncaused.
The world in which you exist is merely an illusion created out of the ‘Self, which is the Soul or Spirit.
The seeker will find his own way when you realize the fact that the ‘Self’ is not him but the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.
Until the seeker strives to understand the truth which is hidden by the dualistic illusion or Maya the 'Self' will not be realized.
Without a perfect understanding of ‘what is what,’ it will take the seeker nowhere. : ~

The ultimate truth is not connected at all with any argument because it is ever nondual.+

A Gnani is rational thinker, he discards all that is not rational. A rational thinker cannot look at the irrational words of the blind believer of religion.

A Gnani sees the words in a different way. The words have meaning only in ignorance whereas the truth is ever meaningless because it is free from ignorance.

The ultimate truth is not connected at all with any argument because it is ever nondual.

Reality and illusion are one in essence. And that essence is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness. There is no second thing that exists other than the Soul, which real and eternal.

The whole universe is nothing but the Soul. Therefore, there is no second thing that exists other than the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

It is not as if something that was not consciousness suddenly becomes consciousness. Rather, "knowing the truth” means a removal of the ignorance about one's own existence as consciousness. Thus, to "know the truth” is to "be consciousness."

Consciousness is ever-present. Without consciousness the universe, in which you exist cease to exist.    Consciousness is Self-evident. It is not established by extraneous proofs. It is not possible to deny consciousness, because it is the very essence of the one who denies it.  Consciousness is the basis of all kinds of knowledge, presuppositions and proofs.  Consciousness is everything. Thus, consciousness is the ultimate truth or Brahman or God in truth.

Remember:~

The world is the same in the cause of a Gnani and in the cause of the ignorant. A Gnani has realized the world in which he exists is an illusion created out of the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness whereas an ignorant thinks the world, in which he exists is a reality.

The look of the world in which we exist depends upon the medium through which the Seer views it. In fact, our mental and intellectual condition will determine the world that confronts us observed, and experienced. A Gnani viewing the world in which he exists see differently for the ignorant viewing the same world. Each one of them interprets the world that confronts them in terms of their existing knowledge. A Gnani sees the world, in which he exists as the illusory play of the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness whereas the ignorant see the world in which he is born, lives and dies as a reality.

A Gnani is the one who gained the Self- knowledge has realized the truth, which is hidden by the illusory form, time, and space. Gnani is fully aware of the fact that the Soul is the ‘Self’.

The Soul is the fullness of consciousness without the division of the form, time, and space. In the realm of the Soul the form, time, and space are one, in essence. That essence is consciousness. The Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness, is second to none. The Soul is the ultimate truth or Brahman or God in truth. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

The ‘Self’ is not ‘I’ but ‘I’ is the dualistic illusion. The dualistic illusion or Maya is present in the form of the universe in which you exist.+

The ‘Self’ is not ‘I’ but ‘I’ is the dualistic illusion. The dualistic illusion or Maya is present in the form of the universe in which you exist.

The universe in which you exist appears as the waking experience (duality) and disappears as the Soul, the Self in deep sleep. (nonduality).

Realizing the ‘Self is not you but the ‘Self is the Soul is real freedom from experiencing the dualistic illusion (the world in which we exist) as a reality.

Thoughtless awareness comes only when there is oneness in awareness in the midst of dualistic illusion. The dualistic illusion or Maya exists as a reality until the ignorance is there. Ignorance will vanish only when the non-dualistic or Advaitic wisdom dawns.

The wisdom dawns only when one becomes aware of the fact that the world in which you exist is a dualistic illusion or Maya created out of single stuff that is the consciousness.

Thus, realizing the consciousness alone is real and all the three states are merely an illusion created out of consciousness leads to nondual Self-awareness.

Remember:~

Ashtavakra Gita: ~ “The universe rises from the Soul, the Self like bubbles from the sea. Thus know the ‘Self’ to be One and in this way enter into the state of dissolution."
Sage Sankara said: ~A.A~ 88. When the whole universe, movable and immovable, is known to be Atman (consciousness), and thus the existence of everything else is negated, where is then any room to say that the body is Atman?

That is why SageSankara says: ~ VC-63. Without causing the objective universe to vanish and without knowing the truth of the ‘Self’ how is one to achieve Liberation by the mere utterance of the word Brahman? — It would result merely in an effort of speech.

What is the use of saying ‘I AM THAT’ without knowing what the ‘Self’ is in actuality? Without knowing the truth of the Self, without realizing the truth of the world in which you exist it is impossible to realize the truth beyond the form, time, and space. By a mere utterance of the word ‘I AM THAT', the truth will not be revealed.
Sage Sankara: ~VC~ if the universe is true, let it then be perceived in the state of deep sleep also. As it is not at all perceived, it must be unreal and false like dreams.
That is why Sage Sankara declaration: ~ “Brahman is the truth The World is Unreal everything is Truly Brahman and nothing else has any value.
Sage Sankara says: ~ ‘What is accepted without a proper inquiry will not lead to the final Goal. (Commentary on Vedanta Sutra)
Sage Sankara says: ~ “The exercise in discrimination between real and unreal and renunciation of the false is real meditation, then why you are indulging in other types of meditation.
Those who tell you that Brahman is unity, that you can get it only by intuition, that you should not reason, you should not question or inquire, are deluding you. Verification must come by thought. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

Why do mortals then become attached to worldly pleasures in the first place?

Why do mortals then become attached to worldly pleasures in the first place?

It is the illusion that allures one to enjoy the mundane objects in a futile effort of satisfying the unceasing demands of his senses within the world in which he exists. One is unaware of the fact that the world in which he exists is a dualistic illusion created out of the Soul or consciousness.

A person within the dualistic illusion becomes intoxicated with lust, greed, anger, attachment, egocentric intellectual knowledge, enviousness, stubborn mindedness, and their numerous variations within the illusion.

Consequently, he gets caught in believing the illusory cycle of birth, old age, disease, and death as a reality within the dualistic illusion. This is an illusion, by which the consciousness is forgotten; emotional attachment and love for the dualistic world are born.

Ignorance of the true Self is the cause of the world in which we exist. The world in which we exist is the dualistic illusion. Ignorance is the cause of experiencing unreality as reality. Because of these pluralistic phenomena of illusory -vision, material happiness appears to be followed by sorrow. If there is laughter, there is a cry; if there is a birth, there is a death; if there is a rich, there is a poor; so on and so forth.

Everything in the waking or dream experience is in a state of constant flux; there can be found no everlasting happiness. The ego is the lord of the dualistic illusion.

Everyone wishes for happiness, pleasures, joy, peace, etc. and none asks for suffering, misery, etc. But in the wake of pleasure, there comes suffering. Pleasure and pain co-exist within the dualistic illusion. People do not understand this. Therefore, there is necessary to realize the fact that the mind, which appears as waking or dream is merely an illusion.

It is the attachment to the form of separate objects which keeps one from apprehending their unity, not the seeing of them. One has to think of the form, time, and space and their essence, by practice he must get to the stage where he can think of both simultaneously. This is done by knowing that the form, time, and space are made of a single clay. And that single clay is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness. This requires sharp intelligence and constant repetition of practices of seeing the form, time, and space and their essence at the same time.

Perfect understanding of ‘what is what’ leads to realizing there is no second thing that exists other than consciousness. Whatever exists as the form, time and space is merely an illusion created out of consciousness. Thus, consciousness is the ultimate truth or Brahman or God. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

Grasping the Soul, the Self hidden by the illusory universe or Maya depends on the capacity of the seeker to grasp it.+

Grasping the Soul, the Self hidden by the illusory universe or Maya depends on the capacity of the seeker to grasp it.

You have to mentally draw your attention back every time it turns to the dualistic illusion (I) and fix it on the Soul the Self."

Remember this: ~

The ‘I’ is not the Self.

The ‘I’ is illusory.

The Self is the Soul, which witnesses the coming and going of the ‘I’.

The Soul is permanent and eternal only the ‘I’ appears and disappears.

The ‘I’ becomes Soul in deep sleep.

The Soul becomes ‘I’ in the waking experience.

The ‘I’ is not the witness.

The 'I' is an object to the Soul, the 'Self' which is the subject.

The Soul is the witness of the ‘I’, which comes and goes.

Holding the ‘I’ as the witness is a great error.

The Soul, the Self is hidden by the dualistic illusion never changes, but the changes take place within the dualistic illusion.

The dualistic illusion becomes the non-dualistic reality in deep sleep and deep sleep becomes the dualistic illusion in waking.

The one that becomes the dualistic illusion and one that becomes the non-dualistic reality, is the Soul, the Self, which is present in the form of consciousness.

Grasping the truth hidden by the dualistic illusion depends on the capacity of the seeker to grasp it. People are conditioned and programmed to grasp only the dualistic truth.: ~

Prior to Sage Sankara in the 8th century, there was no Advaita in Santana Dharma.+

Prior to Sage Sankara in the 8th century, there was no Advaita in Santana Dharma. Without Sage Sankara, there is no Advaita (nonduality). Since it was mixed up with orthodoxy there is a lot of confusion.

As one goes deeper into the annals of history he becomes aware of the fact that the so-called present Hinduism has adopted many things from Buddhism, the religion of Abraham, Jainism, and Islam. If one goes deeper enough he will become aware everything is mixed up and messed up in time.

Sage Sankara endeavored towards establishing the Vedic religion overthrowing Buddhism. But even he was not able to avoid the influence of Buddhism. The influence of the revolutionary atmosphere of Buddhism has reappeared in the Advaita of Sage, Sankara. His inability to revive the Vedic religion that flourished before the Buddhist revolution in its pure form is discernible.

No one is taken pains to rectify it because; because people have been inherited them, from their ancestors and they think it is blasphemy even to hear anything against their inherited religion and belief. Once one gets involved with the religious class it is the end of the pursuit of truth.

Santana Dharma or Vedic religion has no founders whereas Advaita and qualified Advaita and Dwaita are identified with their founders. All of them have introduced non-Vedic rituals barred by the Vedas.

The dualism came only in the 12th century. The orthodox Advaita and Dwaita area adulterated add-ons. Both Advaita and Dvaita schools claim that they are based on the Vedas and they condemn each other with the Upanishads and Puranic citations and try to prove they are right and others are wrong.

The religion, including orthodox Advaita, is nothing to do with the ultimate truth or Brahman because they worship idols, human worship, and symbol worship and indulge in non-Vedic rituals barred by the Vedas.

Remember:~

I am highlighting all the obstacles, which are blocking one from realizing the ultimate truth or Brahman or God in truth.
There are so many non-dualistic masters of the east and also from the west who expound Advaitic or non-dualistic knowledge but none of them are helpful to reach the ultimate end.

There is a need to bifurcate religion from spirituality. People think religion is the stepping stone for Self-realization but it is not so. Religion is based on ignorance and it keeps the seeker permanently in ignorance by hiding the truth with its mythical beliefs and dogmas and superstition.
According to Vedas and Upanishads, all religious propagated beliefs are a myth. Spirituality or Adyatma is based on the Spirit, which is the cause of the world in which we exist.

The theistic (orthodoxy) Advaita is based on the dualistic perspective but Advaita philosophy is based on the nondualistic perspective.
The orthodoxy Advaita bifurcated from Advaitic wisdom. The orthodox Advaita is dualistic and it is meant for the ignorant populace.

Sage Sankara and Sage Goudpada are independent thinkers other schools of Indian philosophy are mere theologies. Advaitic philosophy is real philosophy. The dualistic philosophy cannot escape the charge of dogmatism.

Advaitic wisdom propagated by Sage Sankara is on the non-dualistic perspective.

There is no need to study neither Advaita Vedanta nor Vedas nor Buddhism to realize the ultimate truth or Brahman. It is no use going roundabout way; trace the Brahman.

Philosophy does not begin with the ultimate truth. The ultimate truth has to be proved, not assumed. Hence, so-called philosophers who take Brahman for granted are not philosophers at all.

Lots of Advaitin scholars will teach that all is yourself but none of them can show that this is so, none has analyzed it scientifically, and none can prove it. Rational proof is required so that one arrives at knowing the ultimate truth or Brahman i.e. Gnana. Theirs is mere dogma, parrotism, repetition of what they read in scripture. Authoritarianism merely assumes as true what another says, but what has yet to be proved.

Sage Sankara said:~ Talk as much philosophy as you like, worship as many gods as you please, observe ceremonies, and sing devotional hymns, but the liberation will never come, even after a hundred aeons, without realizing the Oneness.

Sage Sankara ’says:~ Gnana is common to all religions.

There is nothing like One Gnana for a Hindu and another for a Christian.

The entire philosophy of Sage Sankara can be summed up in the following statement:-

Brahma satyam, jaganmithya, jivobrahmaivanaparah: - Brahman alone is real; the world is non-real, and the individual ‘Self’ is essential, not different from Brahman.

This is the quintessence of Sage Sankara’s Advaitic wisdom.  : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

Sage Sankara: ~ “It is possible also to show the unreality of the object world even from pure reasoning.+

Sage  Sankara: ~
“It is possible also to show the unreality of the object world even from pure reasoning.

Do not believe in a thing because you have read about it in a book. Do not believe in a thing because wise man has said it was true. Do not believe in words because they are hallowed by dualistic knowledge Find out the truth for yourself. Use Soulcentric reason, which leads to the realization of the truth, which is beyond the form, time, and space.

Sage  Sankara: ~ “The world, filled with attachments and aversions, and the rest, is like a dream: it appears to be real as long as one is ignorant, but becomes unreal when the ‘Self’ is awake.

Sage Sankara: ~ “As fire is the direct cause of cooking, so knowledge, and not any other form of discipline, is the direct cause of Liberation; for Liberation cannot be attained without Knowledge." (Self-Knowledge)

Sage  Sankara: ~ “As the moon appears to be moving when the clouds move in the sky, so also to the non-discriminating. Atman appears to be active when in reality the senses are active.

Advaitic can never be reached by argument and provocation. Discard all the accumulated dualistic knowledge by realizing the world in which you exist, exists because of ignorance.

Get rid of ignorance by realizing the world in which you exist is created out of single clay and that single clay is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

Realizing the ‘Self’’ is not you but the Soul is Self-realization. The Soul is the cause of the universe and it itself is uncaused.

Remember:~

To realize the ultimate Truth or Brahman demands deeper thinking and reasoning. For those who require mental spoon feeding, for them, it is difficult to grasp. It is only possible to finger point to the reality and indicate the direction.
It is not possible to make one realize the truth; it is for the seeker to verify through, deeper self-search and realize it. The seekers who will approach with receptiveness as they should be approached may conceivably pause at any time and say, these pointers are helping them to think on their own and assimilate the Self- knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana and understanding in a proper and a perfect way.
Self- Knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana cannot be attained by egocentric reasoning. The Soul becomes easy of comprehension, Soul-centric reasoning. One has to attain ‘Self’- Knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana right now in this very life not in the next world or the next life.
The reasoning is interpretable in two ways. The egocentric interpretation is to apply it only to the waking experience. The Soulcentric interpretation is to apply it to the three states. The latter leads to a final settlement of the problems because it takes all data into consideration.
As you keep digging mentally deeper and deeper, the truth will shine as pure awareness in the midst of the duality (waking).
The scriptures are for the ignorant masses, who wholly accept the practical life within the practical world as it presents itself’. Gnana is for those who have begun to realize that things are not what they seem.
Where scriptures and authorities do not agree with the reason, the seeker of truth must reject them.
Sage Goudpada: ~ To establish the truth of Non-duality by sheer reasoning alone. He begins by defining "What is real?" "What is unreal?" etc., because that is the right way to discuss or teach. People must first know what they are talking about. (Manduka Karika)
Scriptural knowledge is conceptual divisions invented by teachers of philosophy by their excessive analysis. All these concepts are a great obstacle in the pursuit of truth. Why should confusion created and then explained away? Fortunate is the man who does not lose himself’ in the labyrinths of philosophy but goes straight to the source from which they all arise.
No one can teach anybody. The wisdom is hidden within the world in which you exist. A Gnani can only show the way that much is the work of a Gnani. A Gnani only guides the seekers to apply their own reason and realize the truth, which is beyond the form, time, and space. When the seeker learns to view and judge and reason the three states on the base of the Soul, the truth will start unfolding on its own.
First, the seeker may find it difficult to use soulcentric reason but gradually it will become easy.
Yoga Vasistha:~ "Teachers, interpretations of sacred texts, the force of religious merit--none of these lead to the realization of that Ultimate Truth which is revealed in the clear reflection of the heart, engendered from contact with the good."
Sage Sankara: ~ VC Let erudite scholars quote all the Scripture, let Gods be invoked through sacrifices, let elaborate rituals be performed, let personal Gods be propitiated---yet, without the realization of one‘s identity With the Self, there shall be no liberation for the individual, not even in the lifetimes of a hundred Brahmas put together (verses-6)
Sage Sankara said: ~ Talk as much philosophy as you like, worship as many gods as you please, observe ceremonies, and sing devotional hymns, but liberation will never come, even after a hundred aeons, without realizing the Oneness. :~Santthosh Kumaar

Know what is you and the world in which confronts you is in reality.+

You are seeing the world which confronts you within the dualistic illusion or Maya. The dualistic illusion is created out of a single clay. that single clay is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

Know what is you and the world in which confronts you is in reality.

You and the world in which you exist is the product of ignorance. When ignorance vanishes, there is neither 'you' nor the world in which you exist prevails as a reality because they have become one with the Soul, the Self, which is present in the form of the consciousness.

That is why Jesus said: ~ “Know what is in front of your face and what is hidden from you will be disclosed to you.

It means one has to know the world which confronts him confronts to realize his body and world are made of the same essence and that essence is Spirit or consciousness (father).

Sage Sankara says: ~ one must first know what is before him. If he cannot know that, what else can he know or understand? If he gives up the external world in his inquiry, he cannot get the whole truth.

VC~ 63. Without causing the objective universe to vanish and without knowing the truth of the Self, how is one to achieve Liberation by the mere utterance of the word Brahman? — It would result merely in an effort of speech.

In Self-awareness, the Soul will as objectless –awareness in the midst of the duality and then the duality will cease to exist as a reality.

The mind is nothing but objective existence. The seeker has to eliminate all the objective knowledge through wisdom and then objectless knowledge will alone remain. This is the nature of the Soul, the innermost Self.

As for the well-known example of the hallucination of a snake in a coil of rope, the rope is real and the snake is unreal. There is neither the snake nor the rope in Self-awareness.

Even after the truth of the snake is realized and the hallucination of a snake dismissed, there is still the reality of the rope persists. Until the rope is recognized to be the Self, the Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana is an impossibility.

The universe is like the snake, because, it merely an illusion. Deeper Self-search reveals the fact that the universe is neither the snake nor the rope but is the Soul, which is present in the form of the consciousness. The true nature of the Soul is objectless awareness.:~Santthosh Kumaar
