There is no higher or lower goal. There is only one goal is to acquire Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.+

The ‘Self’ is not you. When the Self’ appears then you along with your world disappear. When you appear along with your world, then the ‘Self’ will disappear.
The ‘Self’ is not within your body, but you and your world are within the ‘Self’. Thus, it is necessary to realize the ‘Self’ is not you but the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.
Till you think the ‘Self’ is within your body, you will never be able to realize the Self, which is beyond the form, time, and space.
The heart is not the heart within the physical body. In spiritual senses, the Heart is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.
Consciousness pervades in everything and everywhere in all three states. All three states are one in essence. That essence is consciousness. Thus, there is no second thing that exists other than consciousness. Thus, the spirit or consciousness is the creator, creation together. Thus, there is only oneness. There is no God but God.
There is no higher or lower goal. There is only one goal is to acquire Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.

When the Advaitic wisdom dawns this world, in which you exist, which you use to think as reality becomes unreal.

Remember:~

People believe the Soul is within the physical body but in reality, the Soul is hidden by the universe because the universe is merely an illusion created out of the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

One thinks the Self is imprisoned within this body; whereas the body and his experience of the world are within the mind.

The Mind is present in the form of the universe. You are within the universe. You are the physical entity within the universe. The universe appears as the waking or dream.

The dream is parallel waking and waking is a parallel dream. The formless witness of the mind or the universe or waking is real and eternal. The Soul is the witness itself is the formless substance of the three states.

The Soul, which is present in the form of the consciousness is the formless substance and witness of the three states.

The consciousness is hidden by the three states but it is without the three states. The one, which has the awareness of the three states, is not the body but the Soul, which is in the form of consciousness. Thus, consciousness is not limited to waking experience alone because it pervades all three states.

Till one views and judges the world-view on the base of ego or waking entity, he is in the grip of individuality or intellectuality. The Self is not an individual because it is universal. And it pervades everything and everywhere in all the three states. Thus individualized judgment will not lead to one non-dual destination.

That is why Sage Sankara says: ~VC-65- As a treasure hidden underground requires (for its extraction) competent instruction, excavation, the removal of stones and other such things lying above it and (finally) grasping, but never comes out by being (merely) called out by name, so the transparent Truth of the Self, which is hidden by Maya and its effects, is to be attained through the instructions of a knower of Brahman, followed by reflection, meditation and so forth, but not through perverted arguments.

66. Therefore, the wise should, as in the case of disease and the like, personally strive by all the means in their power to be free from the bondage of repeated births and deaths.

Thus, one has to know what is real by realizing our body and our experience of the world is merely an illusion created out of consciousness.

The nature of the Self is emptiness. And it is identified with the different names, such as God or Brahman or God in truth.  ~ Santthosh Kumaar

There is no need to follow anyone. Self-realization becomes easy if you independently walk your path.+
