Sage Sankara :~ Liberation cannot be the result of good works, for Sruti itself’ declares that there is no hope for immortality through wealth.+

If people have believed religious propagated myth thing over thousands of years, the length of time does not prove it true.

Sage Sankara says:~  Brahman or God in truth is impersonal. Worshipping personal Gods is meant for the orthodox people who are ignorant and refuse to accept the truth. 

Sage Sankara clearly says:~ Neither studying philosophy nor by worship as many gods nor observe ceremonies nor by singing devotional hymns nor by uttering mantra nor by mastering the scriptures liberation comes without realizing the Oneness.

Sage Sankara:~ VC Let erudite scholars quote all the scripture, let gods be invoked through sacrifices, let elaborate rituals be performed, let personal gods be propitiated---yet, without the realization of one‘s identity With the ‘Self’, there shall be no liberation for the individual, not even in the lifetimes of a hundred Brahmas put together (verses-6)

Liberation cannot be the result of good works, for Sruti itself’ declares that there is no hope for immortality through wealth. (Verses -7)

Actions help to purify the mind, but they do not, by themselves, contribute to the attainment of Reality. The attainment of the Reality brought about only by ‘Self’-Inquiry and not in the least by even ten million acts. (verses 11)

The fear and sorrow created by the delusory serpent in the rope can be ended only after fully ascertaining the truth of the rope through steady and balanced thinking. (verses 12)

Neither sacred baths nor any amount of charity nor even Hundreds of pranayamas* can give us the knowledge about our own ‘Self’.

The firm experience of the nature of the ‘Self’ is seen to proceed from inquiry along the lines of the salutary advice of the wise. (verses 13)

Ultimate success in spiritual endeavors depends chiefly upon the qualifications of the seeker. Auxiliary conveniences such as time and place all have a place indeed, but they are essentially secondary. (verses 14)

He alone is considered qualified to enquire after the supreme Reality, who has discrimination, detachment, qualities of Calmness, etc., and a burning desire for liberation. The four-fold qualifications (verses 17)

Great sages have spoken of four qualifications for attainment which, when present, succeeds in the realization of Brahman and In the absence of which the goal is not attained. (verses 18)

(While enumerating the qualifications), first, we count the ability to discriminate between the Real and the unreal; next comes a spirit of detachment from the enjoyment of the fruits of actions here and hereafter; after that is the groups of six virtues beginning with Calmness, and the last is undoubtedly an intense desire for liberation. (verses 19)

A firm conviction that Brahman alone is Real and the phenomenal world is unreal is known as discrimination between the Real and the unreal. (verses 20)

They have crossed the dreadful ocean of (embodied) existence through their own efforts and without any (personal) motives; they help others to cross it. (verses 37)

The most valuable contribution of Sage Sankara is that he gained general consciousness on the issue that the authoritative explanation of Upanishads, Gita, and Brahma Sutra was the final say in the matter of religion. Anything that goes contrary to the trio is not authentic. He also made a clear distinction between Vedas and Upanishads in his commentary on Gita. He stated that the Karma Kanda of the Vedas deals with the injunctions relating to the performance of duties and actions. These are for ordinary householders.

The path of religion, the path of yoga, and the path of wisdom were intended for different classes of people. The wisdom is for the advanced seekers of truth. It deals with the nature of the ultimate Truth and Reality. It is meant for superior aspirants who have an inner urge to know the truth and it is not for those who are immersed in earthly desires.

Sage Sankara’s whole wisdom can be summed up in one sentence, ‘There is nothing else but Brahma. He says that Absolute Existence, Absolute Knowledge, and Absolute Bliss are Real. The universe is not real. He says that Brahma and Atman are one. The ultimate and the Absolute Truth is the ‘Self’, which is one though appearing as many in different individuals. The individual has no reality. Only the ‘Self’ is real; the rest, mental and physical are but passing appearances.

In fact, Sage Sankara states a paradox- the world is and is not. It is neither real nor unreal. It leads us to recognize the existence of Maya. He thinks that the world is illusory from one perspective and from the second it is nothing but Brahma, Itself’ in manifestation. This apparent world is Maya and has its basis in Brahman, the Eternal. It looks as real. It has names and forms and actually, it is not real In the light of true knowledge, it disappears, and ‘Self’-alone shines as real. However, Sage Sankara’s Mayavada has not been accepted by many preachers and philosophers.

When Sage Sankara says clearly, the universe is not real. He says that Brahman and Atman are one. The ultimate and the Absolute Truth is the ‘Self’, which is one though appearing as many in different individuals. The individual has no reality. Only the ‘Self’ is Real; the rest, mental and physical are but passing appearances, then it indicates the form (waking/duality/mind) is unreal the formless is real (Soul/Spirit/Witness). Therefore, only Atman is real because there is no second thing other than Atman.

Sage Sankara also clearly mentions that: ~

Soulcentic intelligence is the highest form of intelligence that unfolds the mystery of the universe.+


The man who possesses the highest intellect can grasp Advaita, by merely hearing the truth mentioned will know it.
Bhagvad Gita: ~ Reason as a means to reality. (Chap.18 verse 37)
In chap. 10 of in Bhagvad Gita, Krishna says: ~ I cannot save you, but I can give you Buddhi (reason). (chap. 10)
In chap. 10 of in Bhagvad Gita, Lord Krishna says: ~ "I have given you the most secret teaching, now reflect over it all" Krishna plainly says reflect, think. (Verse 63 of Chap. 18)
Mundaka Upanishad says: ~ Both states are harmful and take you away from the path of inquiry into truth. (Page 234)

Ashtavakra Gita: ~ It is not the absence of Buddhi (Reason) that can grasp Advaita but the man who possesses the highest intellect. Brains are necessary. Such a man, by merely hearing the truth mentioned will know it. (Page~ 224)

Soulcentic intelligence is the highest form of intelligence that unfolds the mystery of the universe.

The ultimate truth is not found in the domain of form, time, and space. The ultimate truth is hidden by the illusory form, time, and space.
Truth means never taking anything to be true without proper proof. It does not mean an accumulation of certain external observations of objects.
The truth is not an attitude, an outlook, or a method. The truth must be based on verification through deeper Self-search. The seeker has to cultivate the attitude of getting proof by using Soulcentric reason.
To stick to what one considers is real, and not because it is true, is perversity. Unless it is proved to be true, one should not accept it. He who knows that ultimate truth which can be grasped by Soulcentric reason, study, he moves not from truth. Soulcentric Reason is the only means to reality.
Some conceited intellectuals say reason cannot grasp the Self: it is formless. True it is unattainable to those who are not receptive, who have not inquired analyzed, and reasoned, but it possible for those who are receptive and courageous to accept the truth and reject the untruth after verification of the facts. The seeker has to reflect on it all again and again until his conviction of the Soul, the innermost 'Self' becomes firm.
Only through Soul centric discrimination, it is possible to attain the perfection of Self-knowledge. Yoga does not give the truth. Only reason based on the Soul as the 'Self' takes the mind towards the source from where it has erupted.
Upanishad says: ~ Atman the innermost Self is known by Reason alone, by the sharpened and purified intellect. Yet still, people worship Yoga and mysticism as the sole means of attaining Atman.
The seeker must have enough patience, humility, and an intense urge to know the truth. Arguments and provocation will not yield truth. Perfect understanding of ‘what is what ‘leads to the realization of Nondualistic or Advaitic truth.
Accumulated knowledge gathered from here and there from reading books or scriptures are of no use in the path of wisdom.
The truth has to be ascertained by the seeker by silently thinking deeply not by indulging in passing views and opinion and trying to exhibit the wealth of his intellectual knowledge. Such a mindset is unfit for the inner (mental) journey.
As the seeker's understanding of ‘what is what ‘grows, gradually the seeker gets a glimpse of truth. Whatever is based on the waking entity is falsehood and whatever is based on the formless Soul, the Self is real and eternal.
Thus, the seeker of truth must make sure the waking entity (ego) is not the Self but the Self is the Soul in order to acquire Self-knowledge.
Remember:~
That is why Sage Sankara Says: ~ VC-63. Without causing the objective universe to vanish and without knowing the truth of the ‘Self’ how is one to achieve Liberation by the mere utterance of the word Brahman? — It would result merely in an effort of speech.
Sage Sankara says: ~ A buried treasure is not uncovered by merely uttering the words: “Come forth.” You must follow the right directions, dig, remove the stones and earth from above it, and then make it your own. In the same way, the pure truth of the Atman, which is buried under Maya and the effects of Maya, can be reached by meditation, contemplation, and other spiritual disciplines but never by perverse arguments.
Sage Sankara: ~ “VC~ All this universe which through ignorance appears as of diverse forms, is nothing else but Brahman (Consciousness) which is absolutely free from all the limitations of Maya.
When you finally realize the ‘‘Self’ ‘is not you but the ‘‘Self’’ is the Soul then you will realize the world in which you exist is merely an illusion created out of the Soul. The Soul is present in the form of consciousness.
Sage Sankara: ~ VC-63: "Without knowing and examining the universe, one can’t know the Truth, as the idea that the external world exists, won't go. It can go only by an inquiry into the nature of the external world.
Sage Sankara says: ~ “What is accepted without a proper inquiry will not lead a person to the final goal. On the contrary, such acceptance will result only in evil, in something detrimental to our spiritual progress.
Sage Sankara says:~ VC-47- All the effects of ignorance, root, and branch, are burnt down by the fire of knowledge, which arises from discrimination between these two—the Self and the non-Self.

Until you think you are an individual separate from the world and the world that existed prior to you and you are born in it afterward the ignorance will prevail as a reality. Till ignorance is there the universe prevails as reality.

Remember:~

Those who lack the intelligence to discriminate between formless witness (subject) and three states (object) will not be able to grasp what is real and what is unreal. Both subject and object are consciousness, not subject alone.

The truth can never change. The nature of truth is nondual, it can never be changed under any circumstances. It may be misrepresented. It must apply to the whole of existence, to the whole of the universe. It is in the object (three states) alone that one has all changes, as deeper analysis points out.

The subject (formless witness) remains unchanged. The subject (formless witness), as such remains immortal. It can never die for it never changes. The body and the world are an object and go, but the subject or the knower of the body and the universe can never go.

The seeker has to take this principle as his guiding thread and non-dual truth becomes easy to grasp. The formless witness can never be subject to the changes of the object; it is unchanged. The mistake usually made is that, the subject becomes the object, or that, the object is the subject.

If one wants to have an absence of contradictions, the absence of duality, there must be one entity, one being. If one has experience which is an object (mind), there is a contradiction between subject and object, for "mind” is an object.

The duality is a reality from the standpoint of the false ‘Self’ (ego or waking entity). The duality is a mere mirage on the base of the true ‘Self’, which is formless consciousness. This understanding comes only to the serious seeker, who has a real urge to know the ultimate truth, which is beyond all the teachings and teachers. There is neither teaching, nor teacher, nor a student in the realm of truth. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

A number of Upanishads are equally dogmatic and self-contradictory because they also begin by assuming Brahman. Few Upanishads prove Brahman at the end of a train of proof but still, they are very confusing and vague.+


Dattatreya's Song of the Avadhut: ~ “The ‘Self is the ultimate Reality; have no doubt. The Self is not something known by the mind; The Self is the very one who knows! How, then, could you think to know the Self? (1.36-42)
Swami Vivekananda:~ “The wicked are always looking for defects. Flies come and seek for the ulcer, and bees come only for the honey in the flower. Do not follow the way of the fly but that of the bee.
Swami Vivekananda: ~ “Advaita encompasses everything. Since Advaita requires heavy-duty intellectualism, it had to be progressively simplified. (From 'The Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda)
Sage Sankara himself had often said that his philosophy was based on Sruti, or revealed scripture. This may be because, Sage Sankara addressed the ordinary man, who finds security in the idea of causality and thus, in the idea of God—and Revelation is indispensable to prove the latter. He believed that those of superior intelligence, have no need of this idea of divine causality, and can, therefore, dispense with Sruti and arrive at the truth of Advaita by pure reason.

Spiritual Pearls of Upanishads: ~
Om purnam-adah purnam-idam
purnaat purnam-udacyate.
purnasya purnam-aadaaya,
purnam-eva-avashishyate

The literal translation:~
That is infinite, this is infinite;
From That infinite, this infinite comes.
From That infinite, this infinite removed or added;
Infinite remains infinite.

A simple translation:~
Brahman is limitless, infinite number
of universes come out
and go into the infinite Brahman,
Brahman remains unchanged.

A Gnani is neither anyone’s Guru nor anyone’s disciple. He respects all the sage of the past and highlights good points in their teaching and he also highlights the obstacles, which block the realization of the ultimate truth. :~ Santthosh Kumaar

By visiting the Ashram, ignorance will not vanish. By glorifying the Guru or surrendering to the Guru you will not get Advaitic Gnana.+

Remember you are a truth seeker you will not accept anything other than the truth. By visiting the Ashram, ignorance will not vanish. By glorifying the Guru or surrendering to the Guru you will not get Advaitic Gnana. All religious and yogic paths are meant for the ignorant crowd, not for those who are searching for the truth of their true existence.

By practicing kundalini you will remain in ignorance permanently. Meeting holy people you will not get the grace.
Sage Sankara himself said: ~ A Gnani "bears no outward mark of a holy man" (Stanza 539).
Sage Sankara: ~ "Though I wear these robes of a Sanyasin, it is only for the sake of bread."
So he wore a Guru's robe only for the sake of the ignorant. So he was identified as Guru with parampara by religious people.
For the truth seekers, Sage Sankara is a Brahma Gnani. Thus, it proves that the religious gurus and yogis are not Gnanis because they identified themselves as holy people.
Tripura Rahasya: ~ Second-hand knowledge of the Self-gathered from books or Gurus can never emancipate a man until its truth is rightly investigated and applied; only direct realization will do that. Realize yourself, turning the mind inward. (18: 89)
By observing nature you will not find the truth you are seeking for but by realizing the unreal nature of the universe the truth you are seeking will be revealed on its own.
Chandogya Upanishads: ~ “This universe comes forth from Brahman and will return to Brahman. Verily, all is Brahman. A person is what his deep desire is. It is our deepest desire in this life that shapes the life to come. So let us direct our deepest desires to realize the Self.
Ashtavakra Gita: ~ “The universe rises from the Soul, the innermost Self like bubbles from the sea. Thus know the ‘Self’ to be One and in this way enter into the state of dissolution."
Sage Sankara said: ~A.A~ 88. When the whole universe, movable and immovable, is known to be Atman (consciousness), and thus the existence of everything else is negated, where is then any room to say that the body is Atman?
The ‘Self’ is not the mind. The mind is present in the form of not the world in which we exist. The world appears as waking or dream (duality) and disappears as deep sleep (nonduality). The ‘Self’ is the Soul. The Soul is present in the form of consciousness. The consciousness pervades in everything and everywhere in all three states. Thus, diversity is created out of single stuff. That stuff is consciousness.
Consciousness is the ultimate truth or Brahman because there is no second thing that exists other than consciousness. From the standpoint of the Soul, the form, time, and space are one, in essence.
In spirituality, God means the ultimate truth or Brahman. Self –realization is truth- realization. Truth- realization is God-realization.
Sage Sankara: ~VC~ if the universe is true, let it then be perceived in the state of deep sleep also. As it is not at all perceived, it must be unreal and false like dreams.
That is why Sage Sankara'says: ~ “Brahman is the truth The World is Unreal everything is Truly Brahman and nothing else has any value.
If you are seeking truth then do not waste time finding a Guru and become his slave. The Gurudom belongs to the religious and yogic path and it is nothing to do with the Advaitic path.

Upanishads:~ Fools dwelling in darkness, but thinking they wise and erudite, go round and round, by various tortuous paths, like the blind led by the blind. (Upanishads Nikilanada - Ch II-5 P-14)
There is no need for a Guru, to know you and your Guru and the world in which you exist is created out of single clay and that single clay is the Soul, which is present in the form of the consciousness. Knowledge of that single stuff is Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. Gnana is given neither from outside nor from another person.
There is no need to follow anyone. There is no need to practice anything but perfect understanding and assimilation of ‘what is what’ leads to realizing the truth, which is beyond the form, time, and space.
The Soul the ’Self’ reveals ‘what is real’ and ‘what is unreal” when the seeker is receptive and ready.
Sage Sankara says: ~ there is no need to study the Scriptures, in order to realize the ultimate truth or Brahman
~ then why you indulge in studying the scriptures.
Sage Sankara says: ~ there is no need to study philosophy, in order to realize the ultimate truth or Brahman

~then why you indulge in studying philosophy.

Sage Sankara says: ~ there is no need to indulge rituals, in order to realize the ultimate truth or Brahman

~then why you indulge in rituals.

Sage Sankara says: ~ there is no need to indulge in yoga, in order to realize the ultimate truth or Brahman

~then why you indulge in yoga.
Sage Sankara says the transparent Truth of the Self, which is hidden by the illusion, is to be attained through the instructions of a knower of Brahman, (Gnani)

~ then why you are sticking a Guru who is not a Gnani.
Sage Sankara says: ~ there is no need to indulge in yoga, in order to realize the ultimate truth or Brahmanu will not get Advaitic Gnana. All religious and yogic paths are meant for the ignorant crowd, not for those who are searching for the truth of their true existence.

Those who tell you that Brahman is unity, that you can get it only by intuition, that you should not reason, you should not question or inquire, are deluding you. Verification must come by thought. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

Advaitic wisdom of Sage Sankara is nothing to with Advaitic orthodoxy.+

Sage Sankara pointed out those rituals could in no way bring about wisdom, much less moksha.

The Advaitic orthodoxy is based on personal God whereas Sage Sankara’s Supreme Brahman (God) is impersonal, Nirguna (without Gunas or attributes), Nirakara (formless), Nirvisesha (without special characteristics), immutable, eternal, and Akarta (non-agent). God is above all needs and desires. God is always the Witnessing Subject. God can never become an object as God is beyond the reach of the senses. God is non-dual, one without a second. God has no other besides it. God is destitute of difference, either external or internal. God cannot be described because description implies a distinction. God cannot be distinguished from any other than God. In God, there is no distinction between substance and attribute. Sat-Chit-Ananda constituted the very essence or Swaroopa of God, and not just God attributes. The Nirguna Brahman of Sage Sankara is impersonal.

Advaitic orthodoxy accepts the experience of birth, life, death, and the world as reality, whereas Sage Sankara, declares the world is unreal Brahman alone is real. 

Remember this:~

Advaitic Orthodoxy mislead Sage Sankara and presented only the religious side of his teaching as the highest doctrine. Thus, people are misled. Orthodoxy based on rituals and mythical Gods and Karma. Advaitic wisdom of Sage Sankara is nothing to with Advaitic orthodoxy.

Let Advaitic wisdom annihilate ignorance (I) and reveal Soul, the Self the God in truth. Let your ears become deaf to the untruth propagated by the religion as a reality; enable you to realize the truth hidden by the ignorance (I). Let your eyes become blind to illusion to receive the Soul as the Self as it is in the midst of the dualistic illusion.
Remember: ~
All the orthodox ideas rejected by Sage Sankara. There is no need to indulge in rituals, in order to realize the ultimate truth or Brahman. There is no need to study philosophy, in order to realize the ultimate truth or Brahman then why you indulge in studying philosophy.
Sage Sankara pokes fun at ascetics and points out that all their austerities do not cause desires to go (Altar Flowers" Page 205, v.2 P.207 v.4)
Sage Sankara pointed out those rituals could in no way bring about wisdom, much less Moksha.
Sage Sankara says the rewards of the rituals are not a matter of direct realization. Advaitic wisdom is based on personal realization.
The orthodox Advaitin believes that rituals alone would lead one to higher levels of attainment. Further, the deities would reward only those entitled to perform the rituals alone. The entitlement involved the caste, creed, and other parameters.
The scriptural authority and value of rituals are part of the Advaitic orthodoxy, which is meant for ignorant people.
The Advaitic wisdom of Sage Sankara is nothing to do with religion, caste, rituals, worship, yoga, and other practices. Therefore an obvious disparity between Sage Sankara‘s path of Gnana, and the path of Karma. The path of Gnana is meant for the advanced seeker of truth and the path of Karma is meant for the ignorant populace.
Even Sage Sankara appears and tells the orthodox people the path of orthodoxy is the path of ignorance they will not be able to drop their inherited samskara or conditioning, which they think is the only way to reach heaven and reap a happy life in the next life.
As regards the rituals, Sage Sankara says, the person who performs rituals and aspires for rewards will view himself in terms of the caste into which he is born, his age, the stage of his life, his standing in society, etc. In addition, he is required to perform rituals all through his life. However, the Self has none of those attributes or tags. Hence, the person who superimposes all those attributes on the changeless, eternal Self and identifies the ‘Self’ with the body is confusing one for the other; and is, therefore, an ignorant person. The scriptures dealing with rituals, rewards, etc. are therefore addressed to an ignorant person.- (11- Adhyasa Bhashya)
The orthodox people only teach and preach their knowledge of ignorance but none of them wants to know the God in Truth, which is hidden by the dualistic illusion or Maya. :~Santthosh Kumaar

First Mundaka:~Ignorant fools, regarding sacrifices and humanitarian works as the highest, do not know any higher good.+

First Mundaka - Chapter 2 (10) - Ignorant fools, regarding sacrifices and humanitarian works as the highest, do not know any higher good. Having enjoyed their reward on the heights of heaven, gained by good works, they still remain in ignorance of the Atman the real God.

As a person, one performs rituals throughout his life. The person who performs rituals and aspires for rewards will view the world in which he exists as a reality. However, the Soul, the Self unborn eternal hidden by the world in which he exists. From the standpoint of the Soul, the world in which he exists is merely an illusion.
The scriptures dealing with rituals, rewards, etc. are therefore addressed to an ignorant person.
First Mundaka - Chapter 2 (9) ~ Children, immersed in ignorance in various ways, flatter themselves, saying: We have accomplished life's purpose. Because these performers of karma do not know the Truth owing to their attachment, they fall from heaven, misery-stricken, when the fruit of their work is exhausted.
First Mundaka - Chapter 2 (8) ~ Fools, dwelling in darkness, but wise in their own conceit and puffed up with vain scholarship, wander about, being afflicted by many ills, like blind men led by the blind.
Ish Upanishad says:~ Those people who have neglected the attainment of Self-knowledge and have thus committed suicide 10/11/12
The religious orthodox people who have neglected the attainment of Self-knowledge and have thus committed suicide, as it were, are doomed to enter those worlds after death.
This is a condemnation of people who do not try to attain Self-knowledge. They are, in a real sense, committing suicide, for what can be worse than being a slave to sense enjoyment, completely oblivious of the real purpose of life, which is to be one ’s, own master?
Sage Sankara says “He who knows the Brahman (God) is one and the ‘Self’ is another, does not know Brahman (God).
Sage Sankara also asserts that Self is realized when All the effects of ignorance, root, and branch, are burnt down by the fire of Self- knowledge, which arises from discrimination between these two—the Self and the non-Self.
Sage Sankara’s Gnanic path can help the seekers draw and prepare them for the journey to the reality hidden by the dualistic illusion or Maya. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

There is only oneness in reality. There is no scope for duality in Advaitic reality.+

Advaita is universal. Advaita is not for sale. Do not buy Advaita from the spiritual supermarket. Advaita is the nature of the Soul, the innermost Self. The world in which you exist is created out of single stuff. That single stuff is consciousness. Knowledge of the single stuff is Advaitic wisdom.

Advaitic truth is very simple, but it is very difficult to realize because you have accumulated mental garbage from different sources in the name of Advaita. Until you discard all the accumulated knowledge you will never be able to realize the Advaitic truth, which is beyond the form, time, and space. 

The Advaita is the nature of the Soul, the innermost Self shines in its own its awareness when wisdom dawns. 

The Advaita is the Soul is the cause and the support of all that exists as the world in which we exist. Advaita is the nature of God, the innermost Self. 

The Advaita is present in the form of consciousness. Advaita is the root element of the universe. From the Advaita, the universe comes into existence. In the Advaita, the universe resides. And into the Advaita, the universe is dissolved. The Advaita is the parent of all that is there is. 

When one goes into the annals of history it looks like the true Advaita expounded by Sage Sankara and Sage Gaudapada was lost or mutilated by the orthodoxy because the preaching and practice do not match. There is only oneness in reality. There is no scope for duality in Advaitic reality.

It is necessary for the seeker to do his homework, and verify the validity of all the claims, rather than blindly believe, what others expound as knowledge, till; the un-contradicted truth is obtained. Religious beliefs are considered to be barriers to realization.

The seeker must have the courage of Bhagavan Buddha to accept the truth and reject the untruth. Since Buddha rejected religion, the idea of God, and scriptures, therefore, it is evident that he has gone through every aspect and verified and found them to be inadequate and useless for the pursuit of truth.

Even Buddhism is mixed up with regional culture and traditions of the local religion, wherever it existed. Thus to get the full essence from Buddhism is very difficult.

The scriptures are for ignorant masses, who wholly accept the material world as it presents itself. Wisdom is for those who have begun to realize that things are not what they seem.

The seeker after the truth should take to Soul centric reasoning and discriminate between dual and non-dual experiences to realize what the truth is and what is the untruth?.

The seeker who has an intense urge in knowing the truth and sharp in grasping, skills in understanding and assimilating without the scriptures, the one who has got these characteristics is the fit recipient of the Self- knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.

The traditionally religious people are so entangled in orthodox religiosity; it is very difficult for them to free themselves from narrow-minded prejudices and dogmas and superstitions. These educated orthodox people are more ignorant than illiterate. They strongly stuck to their inherited orthodox baggage meant for the ignorant populace. Even though, their own sage has said that orthodoxy meant for the ignorant populace they ignore and they are like the blind led by another blind follow the inherited blind belief.

Sage  Sankara clearly indicates in Viveka Chudamani (2) that the Knower of the Atman (A Gnani) "bears no outward mark of a holy man" (Stanza 539).

Most Orthodox scriptural scholars are ignorant in the guise of Gnanis.


One of Sage Sankara’s missions was to wean people away from the ritualistic approach advocated by Mimamsakas and to project wisdom (jnana) as the means of liberation in the light of Upanishad teachings. Sage Sri, Sankara criticized severely the ritualistic attitude and those who advocated such practices.

However, the texts that combined rituals with wisdom (jnana_karma_samucchaya) more in favor of the Mimamsaka position came onto vogue, projecting Sankara as the rallying force of the doctrine.

Sage Sankara:~ Loud speech, a profusion of words, and possessing skillfulness in expounding scriptures are merely for the enjoyment of the learned. They do not lead to Liberation."

Mundaka Upanishads:~ So-called spiritual pundits and learned are called children because a child takes whatever it thinks as truth. The question never occurs to children “Is what I have seen or thought really the truth?" (P.334 line 9)

The Scriptural mastery, the force of religious merit--none of these lead to the realization of that Ultimate Truth or Brahman. The ultimate truth is revealed in the clear understanding and realization of 'what is truth and what is untruth. When one realizes the untruth (universe) is created out of single stuff, Self-awareness rises in the midst of duality exposing the unreal nature of the form, time, and space.

An adherent of the orthodox philosopher may say his philosophy teaches so and so", another man may object and say “No, his religious philosophy teaches such and such." Thus, they may go on uttering contradictions in the name of philosophy. True philosophy deals only with the appeal to facts, not theories.

Where scriptures and authorities do not agree with the reason, the seeker of truth must reject them.

How is one to know that the scriptures are true? The seeker has to look into the facts, for the proof of what has the worship of God done for the people! When a tsunami occurred in Japan the God did not save the believers of japan. Thus, God saves the one who prays such an argument is of no value in pursuit of truth.

People believe scripture is infallible, but deeper Self-search reveals the fact that they are merely a book of words. The words are a mere expression of thoughts. Then it is impossible to see if the scripture writer's thoughts are founded in fact or not.

The fallacy of orthodoxy’s appeal to scripture lies in the varying and conflicting interpretations of the same scripture which different men feel entitled to give or hold.

The scriptures are for the ignorant masses, who wholly accept the practical life within the practical world as it presents itself. Gnana is for those who have begun to realize that things are not what they seem.

Scriptural knowledge is conceptual divisions invented by teachers of philosophy by their excessive analysis. All these concepts are a great obstacle in the pursuit of truth. Why should confusion created and then explained away? Fortunate is the man who does not lose himself in the labyrinths of philosophy but goes straight to the source from which they all arise.: ~ Santthosh Kumaar

Mythological stories are a myth. Whatever is based on myth is merely a superstition. Mythology was introduced in the past for the ignorant masses. It has to be discarded as one progresses in his spiritual advancement.

Mythology breeds superstition, blind belief, and senseless rituals, and most irrational and gives them a divine outlook. Religious Gods are not the God in truth. One must know God in truth.

Sage Sunkara’s Brahman or God in truth is impersonal. Worshipping personal Gods is meant for the orthodox people who are ignorant and refuse to accept the truth. 

As a person, one performs rituals throughout his life.  The person who performs rituals and aspires for rewards will view the world in which he exists as a reality. However, the Soul, the Self unborn eternal hidden by the world in which he exists.  From the standpoint of the Soul, the world in which he exists is merely an illusion.

The scriptures dealing with rituals, rewards, etc. are therefore addressed to an ignorant person.

Remember:~

Sage Sankara clearly says:~ neither studying philosophy nor by worship as many gods nor observe ceremonies nor by singing devotional hymns nor by uttering mantra nor by mastering the scriptures liberation comes without realizing the Oneness.

Sage Sankara says rituals and rites such as yajna or fire ritual are meant for the ignorant populace. Sage Sankara asserts will not prepare the mindset for the journey to Self-knowledge.

Moral, ethics, love compassion, code of conduct, celibacy, karma, sin, temple worship, ancestor worship, heaven, and hell are concerned with the one which is born, lives, and dies in the world.

Moral, ethics, love compassion, code of conduct, celibacy, karma, sin, temple worship, ancestor worship, heaven and hell nothing to with the Soul, the Self because it is unborn eternal. It is unborn eternal because it is a formless, timeless, and spaceless existence.

Religion and yoga prevent seekers from attaining Self- knowledge.

According to Sage Sankara, Atman the unchanging entity itself is the ultimate reality or Brahman. Atman alone is real, while the universe is unreal.
Advaitic wisdom cannot be acquired by scriptures mastery, yoga, religion, and intellectualism or by performing karmas. :~Santthosh Kumaar
