When Sage Sankara says Brahman or God is impersonal and attributeless then why to worship God with form, names.+

When Sage Sankara says Brahman or God is impersonal and attributeless then why worship God with form, names, and attributes.

When Sage Sankara says Atman is Brahman or God then why believe and accept anything as God other than the Atman.

Vedas say May ye never turn away from the Atman the Self. May ye never accept another God in place of the Atman nor worship other than the Atman?

Then why worship non-Vedic Gods in place of Atman the God in truth. Self-realization is truth- realization. Truth- realization is God-realization and God-realization itself is real worship.

Lord Krishna says Ch ~V: ~ “Those who know the Self in truth.". The last two words (tattvataha) are usually ignored by pundits, but they make all the difference between the ordinary concept of God and the truth about God.

One must realize the difference between the ordinary concept of God and the truth about God.

Bhagavad Gita: ~ ‘Brahmano hi pratisthaham’ ~ Brahman (God) is considered the all-pervading consciousness, which is the basis of all the animate and inanimate entities and material. (14.27).

When Bhagavad Gita says: God is considered the all-pervading consciousness which is the basis of all the animate and inanimate entities and material then nothing has to be accepted other than consciousness a God.

The dualistic worship of "God” is only for the ignorant populace. The God in truth is only Atman, the Self. In reality, there is no duality, no differentiation. Only Atman exists.

The Vedas confirm God is Atman (Spirit), the Self.

Rig Veda: ~ The Atman is the cause; Atman is the support of all that exists in this universe. May ye never turn away from the Atman the innermost self. May ye never accept another God in place of the Atman nor worship other than the Atman?" (10:48, 5)

God and Goddess are religious concepts. Whatever seen, known, believed, and experienced as a person within the dualistic illusion (world) is a falsehood.

Sage Sankara’s Supreme Brahman (God) is impersonal, Nirguna (without Gunas or attributes), Nirakara (formless), Nirvisesha (without special characteristics), immutable, eternal, and Akarta (non-agent). It is above all needs and desires. It is always the Witnessing Subject. It can never become an object as it is beyond the reach of the senses. Brahman (God) is non-dual, one without a second. It has no other beside it. It is destitute of difference, either external or internal. Brahman (God) cannot be described because description implies a distinction. Brahman (God) cannot be distinguished from any other than it. In Brahman (God), there is not the distinction between substance and attribute. Awareness constitutes the very essence or the true nature of Brahman (God), and not just its attributes. The attributeless Brahman of Sage Sankara is impersonal.

All those whose intelligence has been stolen by ignorance believe God as an individual and separate from their own existence.

The Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness, is the ultimate truth of Brahman or God.

Sage Sankara declaration: ~ “Brahman (Soul) is the truth The World is Unreal everything is Truly Brahman (Soul) and nothing else has any value.

Yajurveda – chapter- 32:God is Supreme Spirit.

Rig Veda: ~ The Atman (Soul or Spirit) is the cause; Atman is the support of all that exists in this universe. May ye never turn away from the Atman the innermost ‘Self’. May ye never accept another God in place of the Atman nor worship other than the Atman?" (10:48, 5)

Brihadaranyaka Upanishad: ~ Brahman (God) is present in the form of the Athma, and it is indeed Athma itself’.

Thus it refers to formless and attributeless God, which is the Atman (Soul), the innermost ‘Self’ within the false experience. Thus, it indicates clearly all the Gods with form and attributes are mere imagination based on the false ‘Self’. Thus, Atman or Soul, the ‘Self’ is God in truth.

Vedas speak of one God that is the supreme ‘Self’ in i.e. Atman or Soul. Vedas indicate clearly all the Gods with form and attributes are mere imagination based on the false self.

Rig Veda:~ Prajnanam Brahma: - Consciousness is the ultimate reality or Brahman or God in truth.

God in truth is neither personal nor impersonal because God in truth is not dualistic. God in truth is ever free from the dualistic limitation of form, time, and space.

From God in truth perspective, the illusory form, time, and space are non-existent as a reality.

If the form, time, and space are non-existent then the ‘I’ is non-existent

If the ‘I’ non-existence then the mind is non-existent

If the mind is non-existent then the universe is non-existent

If the universe is non-existent then the waking is nonexistent

If the waking is non-existent then God alone is real and eternal.

God is hidden by the ‘I’. The ‘I’ is the dualistic illusion or Maya. You are part and parcel of the dualistic illusion or Maya. The Soul is the cause of the dualistic illusion or Maya but the Soul itself is uncaused. The dualistic illusion is present in the form of the universe.

The form, time, and space are present in the form of the universe. The universe appears as waking or dream (duality) and disappears as deep sleep (nonduality).

Your existence is limited to the illusory form, time, and space. The form, time, and space are made of the same clay. That clay is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

Knowledge of the single clay is Self –knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. Self –knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana helps the seeker to unfold the truth (God) hidden by the ‘I’, which is the dualistic illusion or Maya.

You have to draw your attention back every time it turns worldliness (I) and fix it in the Soul the Brahman or God in truth. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

Sage Sankara’s Advaitic wisdom is nothing but science that unfolded the mystery hidden by the universe 1200years back.+

Advaitic wisdom deals with the whole universe. Sage Sankara’s Advaitic wisdom is nothing but the science which unfolded the mystery hidden by the universe 1200 years back. Sage Sankara’s Advaitic wisdom is nothing to do with religion, sect, and yoga.

Sage Sankara says:~ Self-knowledge cannot be attained by the study of the scriptures and intellectual understanding or by bookish knowledge. Therefore, there is no use of studying the scriptures and other holy books to acquire non-dualistic or Advaitic wisdom.

Scriptures mastery, the force of religious merit--none of these lead to the realization of that Ultimate Truth or Brahman. The ultimate truth is revealed in the clear understanding and realization of ‘what is truth and ‘what is the untruth?

When one realizes the untruth (universe) is created out of single stuff, then Self-awareness rises in the midst of duality exposing the unreal nature of the universe.

Sage Sankara: ~VC- if the universe is true, let it then be perceived in the state of deep sleep also. As it is not at all perceived, it must be unreal and false like dreams.

That is why Sage Sankara says without causing the objective universe to vanish and without knowing the truth of the ‘Self’ how is one to achieve Liberation by the mere utterance of the word Brahman? — It would result merely in an effort of speech.

Sage Sankara: ~ “VC~ All this universe which through ignorance appears as of diverse forms, is nothing else but Brahman which is free from all the limitations of human thought.

Fortunate is the one who does not lose themselves in the finding meaning of the words indicate in the scriptures.

Sage Sankara himself has warned us not to use ambiguous words and to practice semantic analysis in his book "Definition of one's Self. (" Page 199, v.24 of "Sankara's Selected Works)

Fortunate is the man who does not lose himself in the labyrinths of philosophy, but he tries to get the direct realization of truth hidden by ignorance.

Sage Sankara says: ~ VC-65- As a treasure hidden underground requires (for its extraction) competent instruction, excavation, the removal of stones and other such things lying above it and (finally) grasping, but never comes out by being (merely) called out by name, so the transparent Truth of the Self, which is hidden by Maya (illusion).

Mundaka Upanishad 1.3:~ “Complete knowledge includes knowledge of the phenomenal world, the spirit behind it, and the source of both of them. When the cause of all causes becomes known, then everything knowable becomes known, and nothing remains unknown.”

Sage Sankara says: - VC-47- “All the effects of ignorance, root, and branch, are burnt down by the fire of knowledge, which arises from discrimination between these two—the Self and the not-Self.

Sage Sankara says:~ VC-162- There is no liberation for a person of mere book-knowledge, howsoever well-read in the philosophy of Vedanta, so long as one does not give up the false identification with the body, sense organs, etc., which are unreal.

Second Mundaka - Chapter 2 (10)~The sun does not shine there, nor the moon and the stars, nor this lightning, not to speak of this fire. When the ‘the Soul, the Self’ shines, everything shines after Soul; by its light, everything is lighted.

The Soul appears as the universe in waking and the universe disappears as the Soul in deep sleep. The Soul is the universe and the universe is the Soul. The universe is merely an illusion created out of the Soul, which is present in the form of Consciousness. The illusion and reality are nothing but Consciousness. Thus, consciousness alone is real and eternal.

Sage Sankara says: ~ V.63 - "Without knowing and examining the external world, one can’t know Truth, as the idea that the external world exists, won't go. It can go only by an inquiry into the nature of the external world.

The universe is verily consciousness. Without realizing ‘this truth is impossible to get Self- realization. The universe is not different from the Mind because the universe itself is the mind. The mind is not different from the Soul because the mind is the dualistic illusion created out of the Soul, which is present in the form of Consciousness.

Thus, the universe is nothing but Consciousness. The universe is unreal because it is not absolute and eternal like Consciousness.

It is impossible for any human being to challenge successfully the Advaitic position, as Sage Sankara says.

Sage Sankara says you must first know what is before you. If you cannot know that, what else can you know or understand? If you give up the external world in your inquiry, you cannot get the whole truth.

Ashtavakra Gita: ~ “The universe rises from the Soul, the innermost Self like bubbles from the sea. Thus know the Self to be One and in this way enter into the state of dissolution."

The Soul appears as the universe and the universe disappears as the Soul. The Soul is the universe and the universe is the Soul. The universe is merely an illusion created out of the Soul, which is present in the form of Consciousness. The illusion and reality are nothing but consciousness. Thus, consciousness alone is real and eternal.

Sage Sankara: ~ VC In the dream state, even though there is no contact with the outside world, the Soul alone projects the entire dream universe of enjoyer, enjoyment, etc. Similarly, the waking state is no different. All this world of pluralistic phenomena is illusory projection.

The universe will not vanish, when wisdom dawns, only the ignorance disappears and the unreal nature of the universe is exposed, the same way as the unreal nature of the dream exposed when the waking takes place. The wisdom dawns in the midst of duality because in reality there is no duality. Nothing is needed other than a perfect understanding of ‘what is what’ is needed.

The ultimate truth or Brahman cannot be experienced because it is prior to any experience. The experience belongs to individuality. And individuality is a falsehood. There is neither individual nor his experience in the Advaitic reality.

The world in which you exist cannot exist without waking experience. Whatever we are discussing, we are discussing within the waking experience but from the ultimate standpoint, the waking experience itself is an illusion. Whatever is known, seen, believed, and experienced as a person within the dualistic illusion is bound to be an illusion?

This universe is nothing but the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness. From the Soul, the universe appears and when the universe disappears from the consciousness, the consciousness remains without any division of the form, time, and space.

Sage Sankara’:~ VC- 293 -“The whole objective world is non-real. Neither is the ego real, for it is seen to be momentary. How then can the apparent notion "I” be true when the universe itself is momentary?

The Soul is Advaita because the Soul is one without the second. The Advaita is present in the form of consciousness. Advaita is the root element of the universe. From the Advaita, the universe comes into existence. In the Advaita, the universe resides. And into the Advaita, the universe is dissolved. The Advaita is the parent of all that is there is.

Sage Sankara: ~ “VC-294- “But the real ‘Self’ witnesses the universe. and is always there, even in deep sleep. "It is Unborn, Eternal," as the Sruti itself says. It is the inmost Self, different from the (relative) truth and untruth.

We have one key from Sage Sankara and to be applied to every statement or assertion or speculations: It is “Is this true?” “Where is the proof?”

In Advaitic Self-awareness, the ego is not considered as ego, even though the ego is present, the body is not considered as a body even though the body is present, the world which confronts him is not considered as the world even though the world is present, the duality ceases even though the duality is present, because of wisdom everything is considered as consciousness. Thus there is conscious oneness.

Only in ignorance, the world in which we exist is an illusion created out of the Soul, the Self.

The world is both real and unreal. It is real because it is a manifestation of Consciousness, but is unreal, in the sense, that it is not absolute and eternal like consciousness itself.

People's approach is more practical, and they stuck with the reality of the world, they take it as real. That is why all the confusion.

The look of an object will depend upon the medium through which the observer views it. Our mental and intellectual conditions determine the world, observed, and experienced. The commoner viewing the world will see differently from a Gnani viewing the same world. Each one interprets the world that they see in terms of their existing knowledge. The commoner sees everything based on the ego, therefore, experiences the birth, life, death, and the world as a reality, whereas a Gnani sees everything as Consciousness and he is fully aware of the fact that, there is no second thing that exists other than the Soul or the Consciousness.

Thus, all the egocentric (religious) adulteration has to be bifurcated to realize the ultimate truth, which is beyond form, time, and space. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

One day the scientists also will confirm and declare that the universe is nothing but consciousness, which Sage Sankara declared 1200 years back.+

Until scientists realize the universe is an illusion and consciousness is hidden by the illusory universe is real and eternal, the mystery of the universe will never be revealed.
Both modern science and religion offer hypotheses and theories but there is one vital difference--science begins with the facts which it collects; religion begins with fancies.

Sage Sankara was the first Sage who unfolded the mystery of the universe 1200 years back. Sage Sankara's Advaitic wisdom more rational and scientific and nothing to do with religion and its dogmas.

Sage Sankara says this entire universe which through ignorance appears as of diverse forms, is nothing else but Brahman which is absolutely free from all the limitations of human thought.

In the scientific field, the knowledge one can bank on discoveries of different scientists. Newton discovered the law of gravity and Einstein formulated the principle of relativity. In addition, scientists take it for granted that these principles are valid. It is not so in pursuit of truth. If one sage discovers the ultimate truth then the seeker without verification cannot accept it as truth blindly.

Newton discovered the law of gravity, which is applicable only to the waking experience, which is only a half-truth. Nobody has discovered there is no gravity in deep sleep. All three states have taken into account to get the whole truth.

Only Sage Sankara has discovered the whole truth 1200 years back. Scientific inventions are limited to form, time, and space. The mystery of the universe is hidden by the illusory form, time, and space.

Sage Sankara: ~VC~ if the universe is true, let it then be perceived in the state of deep sleep also. As it is not at all perceived, it must be unreal and false like dreams.

Sage Sankara says:~VC-47- All the effects of ignorance, root, and branch, are burnt down by the fire of knowledge, which arises from discrimination between these two—the Self and the not-Self.

Chandogya Upanishad:~ One who meditates upon and realizes the Self discovers that everything in the cosmos-- energy and space, fire and water, name and form, birth and death, mind and will, word and deed, mantrams and meditation--all come from the Self.

Sage Sankara says: ~ ‘Whatever thing remains eternal is true, and whatever is non-eternal is untrue. Since the world is created and destroyed, it is not true.

Truth is the thing that is unchanging. Since the world is changing, it is not true.

Whatever is independent of space and time is true, and whatever has space and time in itself is untrue.

Just as one sees dreams in sleep, he sees a kind of super-dream when he is waking. The world is compared to this conscious dream.

The world is believed to be a superimposition of the Brahman. Superimposition cannot be true.

On the other hand, Sage Sankara claims that the world is not absolutely false. It appears false only when compared to Brahman. In the pragmatic state, the world is completely true—which occurs as long as we are under the influence of ignorance.

The world is both real and unreal. It is real because it is a manifestation of consciousness, but is unreal, in the sense, that it is not absolute and eternal like consciousness itself.

Remember:~

People's approach is more practical, and they stuck with the reality of the world, they take it as real. That is why all the confusion.

The look of an object will depend upon the medium through which the observer views it. In fact, our mental and intellectual conditions determine the world, observed, and experienced. The commoner viewing the world will see differently from a Gnani viewing the same world. Each one interprets the world that they see in terms of their existing knowledge. The commoner sees everything based on the ego, therefore, experiences the birth, life, death, and the world as a reality, whereas a Gnani sees everything as the consciousness and he is fully aware of the fact that, there is no second thing that exists other than the Soul or the Consciousness.

Thus, all the egocentric (religious) adulteration has to be bifurcated to realize the ultimate truth, which is beyond form, time, and space.

Sage Sankara says the transparent Truth of the Self, which is hidden by the illusion, is to be attained through the instructions of a knower of Brahman, (Gnani).

Remember:~

First, know ‘what is the truth’ and ‘what is untruth’ for sure. Without realizing what untruth truth is, it is difficult to know what truth is.

Sage Sankara was criticized for his views on Maya (illusion) without understanding him.

Sage Sankara said: ~

(1) Brahman (Atman) is real

(2) The universe is unreal.

(3) Brahman is the universe.

He did not stop at second because the third explains the other two. It signifies that the universe is real if perceived as the ‘Self’ and unreal if perceived as apart from the Self. Hence Maya or illusion and reality are one and the same.

The realists criticize the concept of illusion without understanding it.

Sage Sankara said that:~

(1) Consciousness (Atman) is real

(2) The universe or mind is unreal

(3) Consciousness is the universe because the universe is merely an illusion created out of Consciousness.

One need not stop at second because the third explains the other two. It signifies that the universe is real if perceived as the Self (Atman or consciousness) and unreal if perceived as apart from the Self (consciousness). Hence illusion and reality are one and the same because both are one in essence. Realizing the essence, which is consciousness as the innermost Self, is Self-Realization or Truth-Realization of God-Realization.

Thus, Sage Sankara‘s declaration is rational truth, scientific truth, and also the ultimate truth.

Sage Sankara: ~ “The world, filled with attachments and aversions, and the rest, is like a dream: it appears to be real as long as one is ignorant, but becomes unreal when one is awake.

Sage Sankara:~ “As fire is the direct cause of cooking, so knowledge, and not any other form of discipline, is the direct cause of Liberation; for Liberation cannot be attained without Knowledge." (Self-Knowledge)

Sage Sankara:~ As the moon appears to be moving when the clouds move in the sky, so also to the non-discriminating. Atman appears to be active when in reality the senses are active.

Sage Sankara said: ~ Just as the snake is superimposed on the rope, this world and this body are superimposed on Brahman or the Soul, the Self. If one gets knowledge of the rope, the illusion of the snake will vanish. Even so, if he gets knowledge of Brahman, the illusion of the body and the world will vanish.

The snake is only an idea: it disappears on inquiry but deeper Self-search reveals the fact that the rope is also an idea and its reality will be exposed when wisdom dawns. There is neither snake nor the rope in reality because from the ultimate standpoint the duality is merely an illusion created out of Consciousness.

The Soul which is present in the form of Consciousness is the root element of the universe. From Consciousness, the universe comes into existence. In Consciousness, the universe resides. And into the Consciousness, the universe is dissolved.

Consciousness is the parent of all that is there is. Consciousness is the ultimate truth or Brahman. Brahman is God in truth.

Consciousness is the only reality, and the universe to but an illusory manifestation.

Sage Sankara says you must first know what is before you. If you cannot know that, what else can you know or understand? If you give up the external world in your inquiry, you cannot get the whole truth.

Sage Sankara says in a commentary in Vedanta-sutra that what is accepted without a proper inquiry will not lead a person to the final goal. On the contrary, such acceptance will result only in evil, in something which is detrimental to our spiritual progress.

Scientists need to prove whether the universe can exist without consciousness.
Max Planck: ~ “Science cannot solve the ultimate mystery of nature. And that is because, in the last analysis, we ourselves are part of nature and therefore part of the mystery that we are trying to solve”

All the scientific inventions based on the dualistic perspective whereas the ultimate truth of existence is based on the nondualistic perspective.

Scientific inventions are limited to the domain of form, time, and space whereas the truth is formless, timeless, and spaceless existence.

The scientists and the world in which they exist and their inventions are created out of single stuff. And that single stuff is consciousness. Knowledge of the single stuff is Advaita.

Advaita is the rational truth, scientific truth, the ultimate truth, and universal truth cannot be contradicted. The Advaitic truth declared by the Sage Sankara 1200 years back.

One day the scientist also will confirm and declare that the universe is nothing but consciousness.

The seeker has to discover a fresh by dropping all the egocentric dualistic knowledge to realize’ what is truth’ and ‘what is not truth’ and accept only the truth and mentally drop the untruth. Thus, constant reflection on the subject is very much necessary in pursuit of truth. ~ Santthosh Kumaar

Scientists take the experience of the birth, life, and death as a reality.+

Scientists need to prove whether the universe can exist without consciousness because Sage Sankara says consciousness is the cause of the universe.

One day the scientist also will confirm and declare that the universe is nothing but consciousness.

Remember:~

All spiritual planes are really mental: those who regard them as different or higher are taking the physical body and the world as a reality.

Scientists take the experience of birth, life, and death as a reality, their scientific inventions are based on physical awareness, and they will not be able to go deeper into this subject because they cannot cross the threshold of physicality.

Modern equipment can investigate objects within the physical existence but it is impossible to investigate the physical existence as a whole i.e. man, and the world together. The whole cannot be investigated with laboratory conditions. Only through deeper thinking through inquiry, analysis, and reasoning, the whole has to be investigated.

One has to reach beyond the physical existence, mentally, and discovers, grasps the fact that, the physical existence is merely an illusion created out of single stuff and that single clay is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness, otherwise, he will remain the conviction believing the duality(universe) is a reality.

Consciousness is the cause of the universe and it itself is uncaused. The universe is nothing but Consciousness. Modern science has yet to discover the consciousness is the cause of the universe, which was discovered and declared by Sage Sankara 1200 years back.

Sage Sankara says: ~ Atman is Brahman. The Atman alone is real is not religious truth.

Sage Sankara declared this Advaitic truth, which the ultimate truth to the whole world, many centuries back is the rational truth, scientific truth, and ultimate truth.

Thus, the Atman which is present in the form of consciousness is real and eternal, the world in which we exist is merely an illusion.

Sage Sankara:~ VC~ "All this universe which through ignorance appears as of diverse forms, is nothing else but Brahman which is absolutely free from all the limitations of human thought.

That is why Sage Sankara says: ~ VC-63- Without causing the objective universe to vanish and without knowing the truth of the ‘Self’, how is one to achieve Liberation by the mere utterance of the word Brahman? — It would result merely in an effort of speech.

VC~65-As a treasure hidden underground requires (for its extraction) competent instruction, excavation, the removal of stones and other such things lying above it and (finally) grasping, but never come out by being (merely) called out by name, so the transparent Truth of the Self, which is hidden by Maya and its effects, is to be attained through the instructions of a knower of Brahman, followed by reflection, meditation and so forth, but not through perverted arguments.

VC ~66- Therefore, the wise should, as in the case of disease and the like, personally strive by all the means in their power to be free from the bondage of repeated births and deaths (illusion).

Ish Upanishad says: ~ “Those people who have neglected the attainment of Self-knowledge and have thus committed suicide.

Those people who have neglected the attainment of Self-knowledge and have thus committed suicide, as it were, are doomed to enter those worlds after death. This is a condemnation of people who do not try to attain Self-knowledge. They are, in a real sense, committing suicide, for what can be worse than being a slave to sense enjoyment, completely oblivious of the real purpose of life, which is to be one’s, own master?

There is nothing more rational, more intelligible, and more un-dogmatic insights of Sage Sri, Sankara, is to drop all the theistic (religious) non-duality or Advaita which is meant for those who are incapable and not receptive to realize the ultimate truth or Brahman.

People’s approach was more practical, and they are stuck with the belief of their inherited belief system.

Religions are based on blind faith or belief, not the truth. Religions are more concerned with their beliefs, dogmas, and superstitions.

Religious Gods are based on imaginary beliefs. The beliefs are not the truth. The belief is part of the illusory universe or Maya.

Atman is Brahman or God in actuality. Other than the Atman the God all else is an illusion. Whatever is based on the belief is a myth.

When Upanishads and Vedas say, “God" is present in the form of the Athma, and God is indeed Athma itself” then why accept another God in place of the Atman or worship other than the Atman.

Yajurveda – chapter- 32:~ God is  Supreme Spirit has no ‘Pratima’ (idol) or material shape. He cannot be seen directly by anyone. He pervades all beings and all directions.

Idolatry does not find any support from the Vedas.

Rig Veda: ~ The Atman (Soul or Spirit) is the cause; Atman is the support of all that exists in this universe. May ye never turn away from the Atman the innermost ‘Self’? May ye never accept another God in place of the Atman nor worship other than the Atman?" (10:48, 5)

It is for every seeker who is seeking truth must first know what God is supposed to be in actuality according to Vedas and Upanishads and reject all non-Vedic Gods to realize the Atman is real God.

Bhagavad Gita Chapter: ~ “All those whose intelligence has been stolen by material desires, they worship many gods. (7- Verse -20)

Brihadaranyaka Upanishad: ~ Brahman (God) is present in the form of the Athma, and it is indeed Athma itself’.

Thus, it refers to formless and attributeless God, which is the Atman (Soul), the innermost ‘Self’ within the false experience. Thus, it indicates clearly all the Gods with form and attributes are mere imagination based on the false ‘Self’. Thus, Atman or Soul, the innermost ‘Self’ is God in truth.

Goudpada Karika-s of the second, third and fourth chapters are the authority that a mumukshu ought to resort to. Since the reality of duality is born of ignorance even to a just born animal, and therefore the cause and characteristic of samsara, bondage, misery, the Upanishads and the Sages who have followed the Vedic tradition teach the unreality of the duality and redeem the suffering humanity from the misery caused by the duality (universe).

Fort the sincere spiritual seeker duality (Dvaita) and suffering are synonyms. So also, Nonduality (Advaita) and bliss (sukha) are synonyms. The Veda, especially the Upanishad portions, are full of teachings directed at establishing the unreality and miserable nature of duality (universe) and upheld the non-dual nature of the Atman, the sole reality.

Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 4.3.22 alludes to this experience: ~ (In this state a father is no father, a mother no mother, Gods no Gods, no Vedas. In this state, a thief is no thief, the killer of a noble Brahmana no killer, a monk no monk, a hermit no hermit. This form of his is untouched by good work and untouched by evil work, for he is then beyond all the woes of his intellect.)

Mundaka Upanishad: ~ “The study of the Vedas, linguistics, Rituals, astronomy and all the arts Can be called lower knowledge. The higher Is that which leads to Self-realization. The eye cannot see it; the mind cannot grasp it. The deathless Self has neither caste nor race, Neither eyes nor ears nor hands nor feet. Sages say this Self is infinite in the great and in the small, everlasting and changeless, The source of life.

The Ultimate Reality is one without a second and designates it by the name Brahman. Brahman is incorporeal, immutable, all-pervading consciousness, beyond the form, time, and space. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar
