BRAHMAN~The word Brahman or Sat has no proper equivalent in English. The nearest is ultimate reality or ultimate truth.+

The word Brahman means ultimate truth or reality which cannot be indicated by any word. The Brahman can be expressed through silence because it is ever nondual. Therefore, the word Brahman clearly stands for the essence of the three states, which is consciousness.

BRAHMAN ~The English use of the word real as applied to the material world, whereas we Indians use it as applied to unseen Brahman. Hence, many errors have arisen in translations from the Sanskrit.

BRAHMAN~The word Brahman or Sat has no proper equivalent in English. The nearest is ultimate reality or ultimate truth. The west, however, applies reality to individual objects or to the multiplicity of them all: whereas Advaitins apply it to the non-duality. Brahman is called "That" because it is something not known yet by the seeker.

The Vedas talk about Brahman which refers to the ultimate truth or ultimate reality. The consciousness is the ultimate truth, therefore, the consciousness is Brahman and Brahman is God.

Vedas do not permit idol worship. All the idols are of the Puranic Gods Priests are referring to the Puranic Brahma as God they are ignorant of the God in Vedas even though they speak of Vedas.

Priests do not understand the meaning of the Brahman, which is present in the form of consciousness.

The scientists and their inventions are based on the physical Self and its experience world as a reality, whereas, the truth lies beyond physical existence.

Until the Scientists discover the truth beyond the form, time, and space, the mystery of the universe will not be unfolded.

Mundaka Upanishad: - The study of the Vedas, linguistics, Rituals, astronomy, and all the arts can be called lower knowledge. The higher is that which leads to Self-realization. The eye cannot see it; the mind cannot grasp it. The deathless Self has neither caste nor race, neither eyes nor ears nor hands nor feet. Sages say this Self is infinite in the great and in the small, everlasting and changeless, the source of life.

The Spirit is the root element of the universe. The Spirit is present in the form of the Soul, the Self. The Soul is present in the form of consciousness. From the Spirit, the universe comes into existence. In the Spirit, the universe resides. And into the Spirit, the universe is dissolved. The Spirit is the parent of all that is there is.

Remember:~

The pursuit of truth is to realize that the Self is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

Sage Sankara opposed the Buddhists only, who misunderstood Bhagavan Buddha and became atheists. According to Sage Sankara meditation always means the critical analysis about the Self to get salvation from worldly tensions. Due to the eccentric ego of the then atheists, Sage Sankara did not go beyond this since the atheists will not accept God beyond themselves. This limitation is not due to limited knowledge of Sage Sankara but is due to the then-existing situation of the psychology of the surrounding society. Even Bhagavan Buddha kept silent about God because the society dealt by Him consisted of Purvamimamsakas, who were strong atheists. Bhagavan Buddha told that everything, including the Self, is only relatively real (Sunya). This is correct because the Self is a part of the universe, which is relatively real to the absolute unimaginable God.  Bhagavan Buddha stopped at this point because the atheists cannot realize the existence of the unimaginable God indicated through His silence.

The point of Bhagavan Buddha is that if God is non-existent, the entire creation, including the Self is non-existent. Sage Sankara wanted to establish the existence of the Brahman. For this purpose, He made the Atman as the Brahman. He brought out the identity of Self with the consciousness and made the Atman the Brahman. Since one will not negate the existence of his Self, he will accept the existence of the Brahman, which is the Atman or Soul, the innermost Self. Both Bhagavan Buddha and Sage Sankara kept silent about the absolute unimaginable God. The same philosophy was dealt by them from different angles in different situations. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

Thoughts like the “I” and the “I AM” will not cease until one realizes ‘what is this ‘I’ in actuality.+

Thoughts like the “I” and the “I AM” will not cease until one realizes ‘what is this ‘I’ in actuality.

The seeker has to realize the fact that, the thought will not rise without the waking or the dream, therefore, the waking or the dream has to be there, prior to the thought process.
Thus, thoughts are nothing to do with the formless witness of the three states. The Soul is the formless witness of the three states.
Thoughts are concerned to an individual, not to the Soul, the Self is not an individual because it is ever formless, timeless, and spaceless existence. Whatever belongs to an individual is bound to be an illusion.
The thoughts, which rises to you and you are the false Self within the dualistic illusion or Maya. thus You and your thoughts and the world in which you exist is nothing but an illusion.
It is erroneous to trace the source of the thought instead one has to first realize the fact that the Self is not the ‘I’. And ‘I’ is not limited to the physical entity, but ‘I’ is the whole universe, which appears as waking or dream (duality) and disappears as deep sleep(nonduality).
If the ‘I’ is there, then the mind is there. If the mind is there, then the universe is there. And the universe is present only when waking or dream is present.
One sees differences between things because of ignorance, all these differences would vanish when one gets wisdom and the various thoughts arise because one considers the ‘I’ as Self whereas the ‘I’ itself is an illusion. :~

The Soul or consciousness is real and permanent. The universe is merely an illusion created out of consciousness.+

Sage Sankara ~ VC~ "All this universe which through ignorance appears as of diverse forms is nothing else but Brahman (Soul) which is absolutely free from all the limitations of human thought

The universe in which we exist is nothing but an illusion created out of the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

The whole universe is nothing but the Soul. Therefore, there is no second thing exists other than the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

People's approach is more practical, and they are stuck with the reality of the universe, they take it as real. That is why all the confusion.

The look of an object will depend upon the medium through which the observer views it. In fact, our mental and intellectual conditions determine the universe, which confronts us, observed, and experienced. The commoner viewing the world will see differently from a Gnani viewing the same world. Each one interprets the world that they see in terms of their existing knowledge. The commoner sees everything based on the ego, therefore, experiences the birth, life, death, and the universe  as a reality, whereas a Gnani sees everything as consciousness and he is fully aware of the fact that, there is no second thing that exists other than the Soul or consciousness .

Thus, all the egocentric knowledge has to be bifurcated to realize the ultimate truth, which is beyond form, time, and space.

The Gnani observes consciousness hidden by the universe as it is without the form, time, and space. To a Gnani the universe is illusory, because, his views and judgment of the worldview are based on the Soul, the Self.

The universe appears as waking or dream (duality) and disappears as deep sleep (nonduality. The Soul, the Self is free of the duality in the state of deep sleep but still unconscious of its own nature.

The Soul is in the cage of ignorance in the state of waking or dream because it is still unaware of its true nature.

Remember:~

The nature of the mind, which is present in the form of the universe, is in constant flux.

The universe appears as the waking or dream. Without being aware of the existence of the formless witness the three states people think everything is in flux in the universe.

The permanent thing is the substance of the mind or the universe. The formless substance is the witness of the mind (I) or the universe. The formless substance and witness are one in essence. That essence is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

The Soul or consciousness is real and permanent. The universe is merely an illusion created out of consciousness.

The world is both real and unreal. The world is real because it is a manifestation of consciousness, but is unreal, in the sense, that it is not absolute and eternal like consciousness itself.

Intellectuals views and judgment of the worldview is based on the dualistic perspective whereas a Gnani's views and judgment of the worldview is based on the non-dualistic perspective

Intellectuals' approach was more practical, and they stuck with the reality of the world, they take it as real.

From the standpoint, the Soul, the Self the universe in which we exist is merely an illusion. The Soul is the permanent all else mere illusion. Man and exist in the unreal universe and discussing from the standpoint of the ego (waking entity) which is the false self within the false experience will lead to perversity.

In Self-awareness the body is not considered as a body, the ego is not considered as ego and the world is not considered as the world because the body, ego, and the world too are nothing but consciousness.

In Self-awareness, there is no flux. There is unity in diversity. Only in ignorance, the illusion is experienced as reality. The nature of the illusion is impermanent and constant flux whereas the nature of the Soul or consciousness is permanent and still.:~ Santthosh Kumaar

You and your circumstances of life is nothing to do with the Soul, the Self because the Soul, the Self is non-dual.+

The circumstances of life are a reality within the dualistic illusion or Maya. You and your circumstances of life is nothing to do with the Soul, the Self because the Soul, the Self is non-dual.

One cannot change his circumstances of life by following spiritual laws because there is no law in the realm of the Soul, the Self. The laws imply duality.

The duality is not a reality from the ultimate standpoint. The happiness, misery, and the world in which we exist are made of single clay. That clay is consciousness. By realizing the Soul as the 'Self' leads to Self-awareness. In Self-awareness, there is only oneness.

The Soul, the Self is present in the form of consciousness. The consciousness pervades in everything and everywhere in the dual (waking or dream) and non-dual (deep sleep) experiences. Self-realization is to realize the truth hidden by the three states.

The mind is virtually the universe. The universe appears as waking or dream (duality) and disappears as deep sleep (nonduality). Efforts should be made to understand the mind. Advaitic is wisdom is an ancient truth preserved as a secret by sages of truth.

We are within the illusion. Whatever we have seen, feel, known, believed, and experienced is also within the illusion. The formless substance and witness of the illusion is the Soul the Self.

In Self-awareness, the substance and witness are one in essence. That essence is the Soul which is present in the form of the consciousness (Spirit).

The dream entity and the dream world are within the dream. Similarly, you and your experience of the world are within the waking experience. The witness of the dream is not the waking entity. Similarly, the witness of the waking experience is not the waking entity.
The Soul is the witness of the coming and going of the three states. The three states are nothing to do with the Soul the innermost 'Self' because, from the standpoint of the Soul the innermost Self, the three states are non-existent as reality.

Remember: ~

Sage Sankara: ~ “VC~ All this universe which through ignorance appears as of diverse forms, is nothing else but Brahman (Consciousness) which is absolutely free from all the limitations of human thought.

The universe is the product of ignorance. The ignorance is present in the form of the ‘I’.

Sage Sankara says: - VC-47- All the effects of ignorance, root, and branch, are burnt down by the fire of knowledge, which arises from discrimination between these two—the Self and the non-Self.

Until you think you are an individual separate from the world and the world that existed prior to you and you are born in it afterward the ignorance will prevail as a reality. Till ignorance is there the universe prevails as reality.

Sage Sankara says: ~ “The exercise in discrimination between real and unreal and renunciation of the false is real meditation, then why you are indulging in other types of meditation.

Perfect understanding and realization of ‘what is what’ leads to Self-awareness. By holding onto theories one remains in the realm of duality. You have to mentally go on dropping what is not the truth through deeper Self-search.

Finally when you become aware of the fact that, your ego, your body, and the world are one in essence then there is Self-awareness in the midst of duality. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

The Upanishad has spoken of the sleep state at length. This has several purposes.+

The Upanishad has spoken of the sleep state at length. This has several purposes?

1. To reiterate that the objective world does not have a permanent reality.

2. To demonstrate that the subject alone remains as the non-dual reality in the sleep state and therefore in all the states.

3. To prove that the sleep state, being non-dual, gives the greatest bliss to the subject consciousness.

4. To prove to the subject-enquirer that bliss is obtained not from objects but on the contrary, in the absence of objects.

5. To prove that duality is samsara, misery and non-duality is liberation, bliss.

6. To give to the Sadhaka a? Preview? a foretaste, of the liberated state.

Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 4.3.22 alludes to this experience: ~ (In this state a father is no father, a mother no mother, Gods no Gods, the Vedas no Vedas. In this state, a thief is no thief, the killer of a noble Brahmana no killer, a monk no monk, a hermit no hermit. This form of his is untouched by good work and untouched by evil work, for he is then beyond all the woes of his intellect. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

Bhagavan Buddha says:~ Go alone. To conquer one Self is a greater task than conquering others.+

Bhagavan Buddha says:~ Go alone. To conquer one Self is a greater task than conquering others.

Whatever is not happening in this world will not happen, try as you may. Whatever is to happen in this world will happen, whatever you may do to prevent it. The best course is to realize our circumstances in practical life in the practical world is merely an illusion.

Whether one is busy and another is lazy, one is poor and another is rich, one is working and another is not working, one is serving the society and another is harming the society, one is religious and another is atheist and one is a terrorist and another is civilized or one is all are happening within the dualistic illusion or Maya.

Suppose if we are discussing some subjects in a dream, the dream becomes unreal when waking takes place. Similarly, the waking becomes unreal when Advaitic wisdom dawns. The Advaitic wisdom dawns when you realize the ‘Self’ is not you but the ‘Self’ is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

On the Standpoint of the Soul, the Self the world in which you exist is merely an illusion. Thus, all the happening within the illusion is bound to be an illusion. Until ignorance is there, the world in which you exist prevails as a reality.

When ignorance vanishes through Advaitic wisdom then the world in which you exist which you think as reality becomes an illusion.

Sage Goudapada quotes from the Upanishads: ~ "There's no plurality here"; "The Soul through its powers appears to be many"; "those who are attached to the creation or production or origination go to utter darkness"; "the unborn is never reborn, for what can produce it?”

Sage Goudapada’s rational exposition of Advaita:~ Whatever is seen, whether external or internal, whether by the ordinary persons or yogis, is unreal.

Thus, whatever you have seen, known, believed, and experienced as a person within the waking experience is bound to be an illusion created out of consciousness. Thus, the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness alone, is real and eternal.

Consciousness is ever-present. Without consciousness, the world, in which you exist ceases to exist. The consciousness is Self-evident. It is not established by extraneous proofs. It is not possible to deny consciousness, because it is the very essence of the one who denies it. Consciousness is the basis of all kinds of knowledge, presuppositions, and proofs. Consciousness is everything. Thus, consciousness is the ultimate truth or Brahman or God in truth.

Remember:~

There is no need to walk in the mountains in search of the truth. There is no need to meet any Gurus. There is no need to renounce family life. There is no need to study the scriptures. There is no need for glorifying the Gurus. There is no need to spend the fortune to please the Gurus. Going to the mountains, searching for a Guru, renouncing the family life, studying the scriptures, glorifying the personal Gods and Gurus are the greatest obstacle in the path of wisdom.

One need not be a monk, a sanyasi, or swami to acquire Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. Religious rituals scriptural mastery, are not a qualification to acquire Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. Monkhood and sannyasa are the greatest obstacles in the truth -realization, which is beyond the form, time, and space.

The spiritual quest is a personal journey to find out the truth of our true existence. It is nothing to do with society.

Bhagavan Buddha:~ There are only two mistakes one can make along the road to truth: not going all the way... and not starting

There is no need to neglect practical life within the practical world. There is no need to indulge 24/7 in spirituality but use your spare time for that.

Do not neglect your family and personal life and spend money on your pursuit of truth. Be happy like any other human being enjoys life with humility and dignity in the practical world.

Internally focus your attention on the Soul, the ‘Self’, which is present in the form of consciousness. The Soul, the Self is free from the illusory form, time, and space.

There is no need to renounce and take sanyasa in order to get ‘Self’-realization.

No amount of Diksha or yoga meeting Gurus and visiting Ashrams leads anywhere. Your guide is within and it guides you to the core that you are seeking for.

Swami Vivekananda said:~ “You have to grow from the inside out. None can teach you, none can make you spiritual. There is no other teacher but your own soul.”

Bhagavan Buddha said:~ Believe nothing just because a so-called wise person said it.

Believe nothing just because a belief is generally held. Believe nothing just because it is said in ancient books. Believe nothing just because it is said to be of divine origin. Believe nothing just because someone else believes it. Believe only what you, yourself’ test and judge to be true.

You should not neglect your individual and family life. Enjoy life as it comes and also you have to face the difficulties as they come.

As your inner conviction about the Soul grows you will be able to realize ‘what is the truth?’ and ‘what is the untruth?’ and be able to see the world in which you exist as a passing cloud that hides the truth, which is hidden by the illusory form, time and space.

Come ye slow, or come ye fast; it is but the Soul that reveals itself at last.:~ Santthosh Kumaar

Sexual intercourse is not a means to Self-realization.+

Q:~ NVWS- Santthosh Kumaar, I fully agree, yet as a bridge -- that is as a lesson to teach the pure unity of the Self and nonduality -- intercourse of two polarities (male and female principles), that is joining together to pure (sinless) oneness in true love and respect=appreciation, human sex could become at its peak a very faint resemblance and remembrance of the overwhelming state of Atma?

Santthosh Kumaar:~ Suppose if you had the same idea in a dream, the dream becomes unreal when waking takes place.

Sexual intercourse is not a means to Self-realization. Those who believe sexual intercourse as a means to Self-realization will permanently remain in the prison of ignorance.

Sexual intercourse is a reality within the dualistic illusion or Maya. The Soul, the Self is hidden by dualistic illusion or Maya. The Soul, the Self is hidden by the dualistic illusion of Maya because the Soul or consciousness is the cause of the whole dualistic illusion or Maya.

Remember:~

Jesus said: ~ Seek and ye shall find. Knock the doors shall open to you.

Gospel Thomas logian 22:- Jesus saw infants being suckled. He said to his disciples, “These infants being suckled are like those who enter the kingdom.”

They said to him, “Shall we then, as children, enter the kingdom?”

Jesus said to them, “When you make the two one, and when you make the inside like the outside and the outside like the inside, and the above like the below, and when you make the male and the female one and the same, so that the male not be male nor the female is female; and when you fashion eyes in the place of an eye, and a hand in place of a hand, and a foot in place of a foot, and a likeness in place of a likeness; then will you enter the kingdom.”

Santthosh Kumaar: ~ This above passage is Jesus’s version of Nonduality or Advaita. When one realizes the mind (matter) and the Soul (Spirit), the Self, is one, in essence. There is no place for the duality. Without the duality, the universe ceases to exist. Without the universe, your existence within the universe is merely an illusion because there is scope for two because everything is created out of single stuff. That single stuff is the consciousness or Spirit.

Until one thinks he is an individual separate from this world he remains in the realm of duality. Duality is the product of ignorance. When the Advaitic wisdom dawns, then the ignorance vanishes. When the ignorance vanishes, then the duality never remains as a reality. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

Sage Sankara:~ Those who identify themselves as holy people are not Gnanis.+

Sage Sankara states that the Knower of the Atman (i.e., a Gnani) "bears no outward mark of a holy man" (VC-Stanza 539).

It means the Gurus, Swamis, and Yogis who identify themselves as holy people are not Gnanis.
Sage Sankara:~ Those who identify themselves as holy people are not Gnanis.
Sage Sankara: ~ "Though I wear these robes of a Sanyasin, it is only for the sake of bread." (Select Works of Sage Sankara" also his commentary on Brihad)
Thus, the above passage proves that all those who were the sanyasin robes are wearing it for the sake of bread belongs to the religion; they are nothing to do with the Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. There is no need to criticize and condemn the Gurus, yogis, and swamis because they are needed for the welfare of ignorant masses in the dualistic world.
Those who are seeking truth need not follow any Guru or any teaching.
The one who thinks of himself as a Guru and the one who thinks of himself as a chela (disciple) will not be able to acquire Self-Knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana because both of them accepted themselves as the body. And all their understanding, practices, knowledge are based on the false self (ego or you).
There are so many in the guise of Gurus and Godmen with criminal records who indulge in cheating rapes, murders. Whoever identifies himself as Guru or Goldman is not A Gnani.
The Gurus and Godmen who promise instant enlightenment or Self-realization are not Gnanis. Mixing religion with the Atmic path is like mixing oil in the water.
Seekers from the west mistake whoever calls them as gurus are Gnanis, thus their mission of seeking the truth is misguided by such Gurus.
Remember:~
Religious Gurus are not Gnanis, they propagate only religion. Religion is not spirituality.
Religious Gurus do not propagate wisdom, but they are meant for guiding ignorant populace in practical life within the practical world.
Many Religious Gurus are serving humanity by giving free education and maintain love and harmony in the society, but they are nothing to do with the Advaitic path of wisdom. The guru is nothing to do with Advaitic wisdom. A Gnani never identifies himself as a Guru.
Swami Vivekananda himself said: ~ “You have to grow from the inside out. None can teach you, none can make you spiritual. There is no other teacher, but your own Soul.”
There are two kinds of audiences - the ordinary ones who desire the transitory heaven and other pleasures obtained as a result of ritual sacrifices, and the more advanced seeker who seeks to know the ultimate truth or Brahman. The Guru and Guru Paramparas are meant for the first audience, to help lead its followers along the way. However, there is no need to follow any parampara and follow any Guru those who wish to realize the truth which is beyond the form, time, and space. We should not mix religion with spirituality because religion is based on the ego and spirituality is based on the Soul.
Religion is concerned with its paramparas, not truth whereas spirituality is concerned only with the truth, which is hidden by the illusory form, time, and space. Religion is not spirituality. : ~

The past, present, and future is nothing to do with the Soul, the Self, which is ever nondual.

In reality, there is no trace of the illusory form, time, and space because the reality is ever nondual.

The form, time and space are merely an illusion. the illusory form, time, and space hide the nondual reality.

The present is part of the illusion. The present is impermanent. Now is ever-changing. The witness of the Now is the changeless Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

The past, now, and the future, are created out of a single clay, and that single clay is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

In reality, the witness (Soul) and witnessed (Mind) are one is the essence. Therefore the past, now, and the future are nothing but an illusion created out of consciousness. Freedom means freedom from ignorance. It is not you who is seeking freedom.+

Freedom means freedom from ignorance. It is not you who is seeking freedom. It is the Soul, the Self which seeking freedom from ignorance.

Shun the ignorance which is present in the form ‘I’ and think the ignorance is like poison.

Turn your attention to the Soul, the Self, which is present in the form of consciousness. The Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness is the ultimate truth or Brahman or God. Free the Soul, the Self from the illusory prison of the form, time, and space.

When you realize the ‘Self is not you but the ‘Self’ is the Soul automatically the world in which you exist losses its luster of reality.

Remember:~

You are the false self within the illusory universe or Maya, which is present in the form of the ‘I’. without the ‘I’ you, and the world in which you exist ceases to exist.

So do not limit the ‘I’ to an individual because ‘Self is not ‘I’ because the ‘I’ is the whole dualistic illusion.

If you are not the ‘Self’ but the ‘Self’ is the Soul, then how can you say ‘I AM THAT’ when the Self is not you but the Soul.

Perfect understanding of ‘what is what’ leads to Self-realization.

The ignorance is present in the form of the ‘I’.

The ‘I’ is present in the form of the mind.

The mind is present in the form of the universe.

The universe appears as the waking or dream. (Duality)

Remember:~

Detachments to the ignorance are freedom for the Soul from the cage of the dualistic illusion.

Detachment from the ‘I’ is freedom

Detachment form of the mind is freedom

Detachment form of the universe is freedom

Detachments from the waking or dream (duality), is freedom.

Remember:~

Just as a piece of rope is imagined to be a snake in the semi-darkness and an oyster to be a piece of silver, so is the Atman (Soul) determined to be the body by an ignorant person. The illusion of Samsara is not an absolute reality.
Atman is ‘One’ without parts, whereas the body has many parts, yet people see these two as One! What else can be called ignorance but this? Knowledge destroys ignorance, as light destroys darkness.
When ignorance is destroyed, then the Self truly reveals, like the Sun when the clouds are removed. The destruction of ignorance is liberation. Darkness cannot remove darkness.
Wisdom being incompatible with ignorance puts it to flight. The ignorant long for results and engage in activities with the idea of doer-ship and enjoyment.
The ignorant are deluded and think, 'I act', 'I cause others to act', 'I enjoy', and so on. Maya is the power of the Soul.
Maya or illusion can be destroyed by the realization of the pure Brahman, the One without the second. The mind is the cause of bondage. All beings are by nature Pure Consciousness Itself. It is due to ignorance that they appear to be different from It. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar
